Just curious, what do you do when you are losing a match. Do you take more chances or take less? What do you start thinking to urself to try & come back and win the match? Does it generally work the thing that you do to try & come back? And generally have you any good tips for coming back from a losing position? Just curious as this year i am entering the regional leagues, 2 infact, my first time to play against some1 i have never played before. There will probably be occasions in which i will be losing. Just want to know what works & what does not.
it varies from person to person. so nobody can tell you what works & what does not. unless of course its completely insane like go touch the umpire's crotch when you are losing to get free points. me, i personally tell myself to keep trying. i once came back from 0-8 down in the old point system to win it 15-11 or something along those lines. just KEEP TRYING. most importantly, don't give up. once you give up, whatever you do won't bring you back.
It ain't over until someone scores 21, or 2 more than you beyond that score. Until that happens, keep doing your best. Otherwise I don't see the point of playing anyway. The CTF/LWW vs KKK/TBH match in the recent Macau Open is the measure of what sports should all be about - the celebration of the competitive spirit.
I like to just keep the score out of my mind and think about the task at hand. But usually I find myself blaming someone or something, bad habit. When I'm mad I actually play worse rather than better. So I try not to show emotion , as the other team may use it to their advantage. Keep encouraging yourself or your partner.
Never show any signs of anger, because that will make us miss good opportunities, and also it we will make more mistakes. >_>
Just think one point at a time, not the overall score. If its match point against me - I tell myself they are under more pressure than me and more likely to make a mistake. Never give up.
The game is won or lost one point at a time...I just think about collecting pennies. During a game the only time I select a mindset is during the serve. Hedghog
i usually just keep playing. but the worst i've seen was this one girl our high school used to play, and she smashed her racket. Like broke it because she lost. I was like...i could've used that!
Well just keep cool & continue playing safe shots, The best advice is keep cool brethe in & out just think off how to get back the points..
I was playing a singles game yesterday and was down in the 3rd set 1-12 from my own errors. Didn't completely give up, but I would be lying if I said it wasn't discouraging
Try hard to forget about errors you've made, don't let it distract you from the perfect shots you're going to make. And focus on your opponents strong and weak areas.
ya wat ever error had been made is already made so just focus on how to get back the next point, especially now 21 pointer game just keep the shuttle in the air till yr opponent made mistake but u must be able to run for long...
I already came back for 4-16 to 21-19. Moral of the story : Keep up since your opponent may have weaknesses you haven't noticed until then.
Take a deep breath, and relax. If you think of the score, you will tense up, and this is bad for badminton. Relax, take a deep breath. If you need to, walk back to the back line and walk back. Some of you may say this is a delay of game, but I use it to catch my breath, relax and calm down. Then, focus on something. The serve, your strategy, you tactics, his weakness, anything that will focus your attention on the RALLY, and NOT the game or score. After you the rally, either lose or win, repeat. Key thing is keeping calm. I find that when I play on the losing side, I tense up. This is not good as I'm the net player in doubles and I need the touch. Keep on repeating, and good luck on your tournament...
Throw a temper tantrum, shout, curse, whine, stamp your foot loudly. Well, no one said anything about being a professional, saint or an earth-based angel...
Do what taufik does. He appears like he's not trying, so that the opponent loses concentration, thinking that he got the game in the bag. Then slowly, bam, the scores even, and he wins. (sometimes)
And then like today lose against Lin Dan even when he was leading 19-14 in game 2... Hehe! Do you know the book "WINNING UGLY" from Brat Gilbert? It's about tennis, but perhaps it can help you...
I prefer to be a bit cautious, get all the shots in and kill when opportunity comes. Did that a few times when trailing at 14. Again varies between players.
