when my friends come back from SE asia with new badminton rackets, they all came with nice thick study crafted thermo bags. In canada, all we get is a thin and flimsy vinyl thermo bag, that goes for Ti-10, Swing Power/ISO900, Ti8, Ti7, cab23, cab22. Not only are the rackets cost more (Ex. Ti-10 cost 270 Cdn$ + Tax, no string) in canada, we get cheap thermo bags. Reason: little competition in north american market but lots of product competition in SE asia.

Yes the ones from asias are MUCH bulkier than the canadian versions. You would think they would give Canadians the thick padded ones so our strings won't freeze and break!

Yes, this world doesn't make sense. A warm climate like Malaysian, Yonex supply nice thermo bag and a cold climate like Canada get a regular bag. What happen to the phase "you get what you pay for". A friend pickup 3 cab21 with nice thermo bag for $375 Canadian in Malaysia and if I buy it in Canada, it will cost me $675 Canadian with regular bag. It difficult to support your own economy when the price different is $300.

In Malaysia, thermal bags can be purchased separately. The retail price for a Yang Yang thermal bag that can hold 6 racquets is RM21.90. If you need more compartment for shoes and t-shirt, then get a Yang Yang thermal bag at RM59.90 only. One USD is equivalent to RM3.80. Very cheap indeed for Canadian standard.

I bought a Carbonex 8 SP racket from Malaysia about 8 years ago now at least and it doesn't come with any bag. It only came with a head cover. But here in Singapore they sell all rackets with good full cover thermal bags. For those of you who haven't seen the Singapore cases provided with the Titanium series, you'll be suprised. Its made of the normal material inside but on the outside its layered with a cushion fabrick with a gold "Titanium" stich on the outside.

Pretty neat. I didn't expect such good cases since i bought most of my rackets from Indonesia.... Where i used to live......

yes, that is the description of the thermo bags i saw from friends came back from their SE Asia vacation. Beside the gold stitches, the outside texture are made of felts and it is a thicker bag.

    cool SP bags

advantage of buying SP rackets in asia(HK) is getting these cool thermo bags. They are study hard foam kinds and come with zippered pouch inside unlike the flimsy north american counterpart (2 pictured on top). I didn't went for high resolution image so i can keep the KB size down.

    Hey cooler,

I just saw one of the blue color bag this afternoon. Nicely sculpted bag, it was used for an MP88.

BTW, are all those racquets on that page yours? Man, you got some deep money bags! Next time you come out to YVR, Viver WWC and I will have to relieve you of some of those racquets. Okay, maybe not WWC, since he's only into Winex...

Hey no fair, I bought my mp 55 and mp 77 from Malaysia and did not get a nice 1 racket thermal bag. I got a big bag for each racket that can store 3 rackets (but I store 5 rackets). The bags are generic Yonex bags and are big and thermal but not all that nice.

    Better wear shades . . .

No need to go to Hong Kong . . .

I know a company in Calgary that imports racquets from HK and sell them in Canada. . . here is my personal collection (and no I am not sponsored by YY and no THEY ARE NOT FOR SALE). Some people collect fine wine, I collect fine racquets!

    colours of the rainbow . . .

Talked to my friend in HK,

Normally if you buy a racquet, any MP series racquet in HK, the default is a nice and sturdy leather-like black bag that has Titanium written on it - THAT IS OLD STOCK, but still better then flimsy Canadian YY cases.

Designer bags are the wave of the future . . . no flimsy stuff like what we get in Canada. There is red, there is blue, there is yellow, there is yes . . . I dare say, PINK. There may be other colors but I haven't been able to see it yet.

The rumour is, HK YY dealers will be getting new stock in the New Year, so be very careful if you buy now because you may not be fashionalble next year . . . hehe

The bags are NOT FLIMSY, but they are made of foam (it feels like) so it protects the racquet really well BUT THE EXTERIOR OF THE CASE CAN GET DENTED IF YOU PRESS AN OBJECT INTO IT. Nonetheless, I could not help myself, I ordered more racquets with Blue case, Pink Case, and maybe . . . just maybe, RAINBOW!!! (just kidding about the rainbow)
