    Greetings All

Some background about me (to introduce myself politely rather than just launchin in with my question!)

I am fairly new to badminton, well very new actually.

Played my first ever game with a group from work about 4 weeks and knew instantly that I enjoyed the game. I used to play a lot of tennis, but gave up because of some knee problems. Badminton however does not seem to cause me any issues. I have played each week since and have made enquiries about joining my local badminton club.

At the moment I am either borrowing raquets from others (usually really old) or using the ones at the leisure centre (£5.99 jobs). I decided to buy my own, and went to my local JJB where they were advertising some good money off deals on Yonex.

Anyway, the two that I liked in my price range (both £30 down from £60 RRP) were the Yonex Muscle Power 723 and the Yonex Isometric 765 Lt (as written on the shafts). I wasn't sure which would be best suited to me, so came home to do some internet research on them. Rather surprisingly, I can't find anything about either raquet on the internet. The only thing I can find about the MP 723 is a thread on a thai board from someone asking if anyone has ever heard of this raquet!

So, my question is this… has anyone here ever heard of either of these two raquets? If they are standard yonex raquets, why don't they seem to be available or reviewed anywhere on the net?

Many thanks for any help or advice !

It's probably a fake. The only muscle power I know with three digit is the muscle power 100 (dark red),as for the ISO, not familiar with this series. Good luck on your search!

i'd say it's fake. there are ISO 300, ISO 900 etc. but they're discontinued, really old racquets.

There is a muscle power 723; a thread was posted here a while ago and within was an ad about it. They're all low end racquets anyways.

Thanks for the replies. I'm pretty sure it must be a genuine raquet as it's in a major sports store with branches nationwide, i think it's unlikely they'd sell fakes.

It is odd though that i can't find out anything about the raquets!

Thanks for the input people - no idea what to do! Risk them, or keep looking!

I spotted the Yonex Isometric 765 LT today in my local InterSport shop. It is definitely genuine, as InterSport is a World-wide known brand of sportshops. I never heard of the Muscle, tbh.

    An answer....

I emailed Yones themselves through their website and received the following reply:

"The MP 723 is JJB only racket that is based on the MP 23 that we produced. It is an authentic Yonex Racket."

I didn't ask about the Isometric one, but i presume that will be the same.

JJB is a major chain of sports stores in the UK. Like InterSport in France. Not sure what an equivalent would be in the US or Canada. Kind of like a sports version of a Walmart!
