badminton in tamworth

Hello everyone,

I seem to be having real problems in finding a club/partner for Tamworth,Staffs.

I am an above average player but have recently been forced to stop playing because my buddy moved out of town!!

I am desperate to start playing again, and believe there was a club called Saxons that have now disbanded, if anyone wants to play, or even start a new club of our own than please get in touch.

It seems crazy that there are numerous sports centres in Tamworth but not one club to join.

btw, I am 6ft5 so this could give me an advantage (lol).

The Three Spires club at the Friary Sports centre in Lichfield is probably the closest club now. Fridays 19:00-22:00

thanks neil, i was aware of that one.

I really wanted something weekday nights, not fri,sat or sun.

Do you go to that club and is it any good.

I have played for them in the past.
I think they are still in division 1 of the South Staffs league.

Currently I play for Reedswood in Brownhills (so down the A5 rather than the A51). Tuesday nights 20:00-22:00

a little bit further on, there is TP Riley who play at Norton Canes
on Thursdays 20:00-22:00

I also play at 4 Oaks in Streetly
They play in the Birmingham League and the Sutton League
but they play on Sunday night

Are you looking for new members for Reedswood, Brownhills because that night suits me perfect.

I would say I am average to slightly above average ability but have never played club badminton before.

I am really keen to play and would like the chance to compete also.

The next 2 tuesdays we have a match on each night, but there will be other courts available if you want to come down

PS, do you provide the shuttles and how much will i have to pay?

yes, the club provides the shuttles. We use feathers.
The visitors fee is either £2 or £3 - I can't remember.

Hi

I play at county officers club in Stafford. How far is stafford from you? We also play social badminton at the uni campus in stafford 7-9 mondays and fridays. Its £2.30 for social badders and the club night is £3 per session. If you need more info lemme know
