    :crying: i was so looking forward to play badminton again today after a nearly two months break but i guess i will have to wait a while longer. i already took out my badminton bag last saturday, check out my rackets, clean my shoes, put in my tracks and t shirt and i was good to go. but yesterday, i got bitten by the flu bug and my whole body aches especially the joints and i feel tired and sluggish. i am coughing like mad and my left rib hurt from all the coughing. argggghhhhh.......i have so many things planned like taking pictures of the place where i play to post here, testing my shoulder and elbow to see if they still hurt after the long rest, enjoying my badminton again.....well, not much i can do till this flu goes away. hopefully recover by wednesday. :p

    Take care of yourself Leen.
    There are plenty of time for badminton when you are fully recovered, dont rush!
    But I understand the eagerness to play after 2 mong break! Same feeling I had when I was recovering from a heal injury.

    thank you linus for your good wishes. i am indeed trying to recover as fast as i can by resting and taking in a lot of fluid. :D i know a lot of people here will understand the frustration of not being able to play. hehehe.

    better start playing next week.
    for this week;
    1. go jogging
    2. swimming
    stretching yourself, build up some stamina...... after 2 months break, if you just straight away back to badminton, dont complain.....;)
    these will benefit you.....:)

    well eager beaver i am. at least i can dream. i myself doubt i can play this week but people say the mind have powers. maybe it can persuade my body to fight this flu and get better quicker. :D :D :D and yes, i am anticipating the sore muscles and the pain of playing active badminton again after a long break. in fact, i am nearly welcoming it for the sooner i get back in the saddle the sooner the pain will ebb away. hehehe :D will do the stretches though. :) i hate jogging and i look horrendous in a swimming suit.

    hahaha, what started out as a perfectly normal thread has again become ludicrous! :)
    good to see someone so eager to play, shame that you were struck down with illness just as you were getting there.
    hang in there, are you doing the shoulder stretching exercises i recommended?

    yes, i have been doing them but not regularly. i missed a few days i guess. using bicycle tyres to provide resistance. i am impatient to see if it works. i have also been trying something else in between. do any of you know a thingy in China, i forgot the name, but it consists of two metal balls or ceramic balls that you rotate in your palm to increase blood flow. maybe i will take picture of it tonight and post it tomorrow. and i also do occasionally this exercise i found on the net to strengten fingers and subsequently reduce elbow pain. something to do with the muscles that moves your fingers also connected to the muscles that experience tennis elbow symptom. it is simple, just take a rubber band, and stretch it with all five fingers. add more rubber band to provide more resistance. :D yep, i will be hanging in there. at least i should be thankful it is not an illness that will keep me away from badminton forever right? silver lining, i see, master yoda. :)

    yeah, i think most people have seen/heard about the metal balls. i've never really found them to be effective, though i must admit that i've only ever used them a couple of times.

    Hmm..

    ..may i suggest a doctor to prescribe to you some flu medications so you will be healed, be on your toes and back to smashing those birdies, again (of course, plenty of rest wouldn't hurt)??...:confused::rolleyes::D:cool:...On that note, get well soon!;)
