How far are you willing to travel to play regularly? There are quite a number of clubs around Sydney (though none that I know of near Katoomba). Try www.sydneybadmintonassoc.org to look for some clubs.

If I'm not mistaken there is a tournament next month at UNSW on the 24th and 25th Nov.

Sorry for the late, post but if you are still looking:

Contact NSW Badminton Association. They have conacts for regional associations, their might be clubs at Bathurst and Lithgow.

    Briefly there is

    15-16/03 UNSW Easter Open
    28-29/06 New South Wales Open
    9-10/08 UNSW Winter Open

but you can check their calendar: http://www.badmintonnsw.org.au/calendar.html

    Badminton in katoomba

    Dear Roytam,
While no one play badminton in Katoomba, you might have to travel down to Sydney to play. If it is is a weekend, you can play at all the uni places ( unsw, Macquarie e.t.c.).Otherwise you can play at Girraween near Westmead on a Friday night which is the nearest place with ppl playing badminton if you are coming from the mountain. It still means 1-2 hours travel time.If need be, you might get in touch with those hotel school students at Leura to see if there are any students these wishing to play with you. Then you can book a hall somewhere near the town (there were some young players from Indonesia who were in the same position as you stuck at leura before).

    All the best
