Hey guys, Recently I've noticed that the paint on the cone of my Armortec-700 has been peeling or falling off (perhaps from putting the grip sticker or the actual grip itself on there). It's dangerously close to peeling off the country/manufacturing code on the cone. My question is if the country code falls off will that affect my warranty since there's no indication of the US code there, or is Yonex able to track it through the serial number itself? Thanks!
The paint peels off the cone if you put adhesive backed grip over it (towel/replacement grips wrapped up to the top of the cone). Happened to my AT500 before. SD - What I would suggest is either use a think layer of glue to stick it back on or sello tape. If your warranty is going to expire soon anyway, I don't think it will make a difference, except look ugly!
1) how old is this racquet? what is the date code? 2) make sure the ser# is ok. a racquet w/o date code will take a little longer to get it back because yy need to cross ref the country code.
The numbers are only engraved to the Paint. If your paint fall off.. you will not be able to see the numbers on the plastic cone or the graphite shaft.
rael raquets codes cant fall off because they are marked in not printed and how do you post? plz tell me
It is laser envraved. Not fall off but then, if the cone has something adhesive on and then take the adhesive off it can take out the racket code because the paint comes off with it.
Matt, thats what happened to me. i used to wrap towel grip up to the top end of the cone of my AT700s. this caused the paint where the manufacturing date/code & distribution/country code is engraved to peel off. i think its normal coz it happened to all my AT700s...i have 3. and by the way, they are all pretty old at 4 years old. the paint chipping doesnt bother me, what does is that the cones sometimes twist. i have to readjust once in a while.
