Try Rackets&Runners on Oak and King Edward, they carry quite a selection for Yonex. Tad's Sporting Goods on Granvile and 70th has better pricing compare to R&R, in my opinion.
Hi Martin, There are a couple. For example Tad's Sporting Goods down on Granville/72nd and Abby's on Main/33rd. As for me, I'm getting into the business to be the agent for Winex equipment for Western Canada. If you are interested in trying out the racquets, give me a shout and let me know where you play (time & place) and I will bring a couple of the racquets out (e.g. Ti-9, Ti-3 & Ti-20 - all strung at 22 lbs). Cheers, Peter
Where to buy rackets in Vancouver, BC??? I'm looking for places to buy rackets, strings, and badminton equipment. Can anyone hlep me?
The big mall places, like sport check and sport mart. For higher end stuff, try Tads Sporting Goods, or Racquets and Runners. Personally i've was pretty happy w/ my purchase experience at Tads, they're not super cheap but they have good selection of higher end stuff, and reasonable prices. http://www.tadssports.com/
Tad's has a very good selection of different brands which includes Prince, Babolat, Carlton, Yonex, Winex. Other places includes Abbie's on Main/33rd (westside of Main) or you can try the pro shops at the various clubs like VRC, VLTC, etc. Rackets and Runners have three locations; the Vancouver one is located on Oak/W. 24th and the one in Richmond is located at Steveston Hwy/No. 3 Rd and the last location is in Coquitlam.
Or if you wait at any community center long enough you might run into the travelling badminton store! Jim usually makes his rounds daily to most community centers throughout the lower mainland. he's an older asian fellow, who carries in a rather large bag, and almost on cue, all the regulars will swarm him to take a look at his offerings, or just pick up some loose ends like grips and shuttles. He usually carries a range of racquets, prices are okay, or comparable.
*LOL* Jim needs to get himself a website! Hey SL, it's probably lot easier to tell him which center you are at, he'll probably make the trip there. In the past, wherever i happen to go, if he is not aware of it, he will make a special trip to go there. anywhere there is a badminton playing, he will make plans to attend. he likes driving around anyways, he is used to it from his daytime job....
hahahaha.... you would think with the amount of driving he and talking that he does... no, he is an auto insurance auditor, so he travels a lot to various parts of town and bc for his job. lots of driving...
which ones do you play at. maybe just different times, or mainly adult sessions that he attends... in general i know he goes stops by Cameron on Monday and Friday evenings, Guildford on Saturday morning and night, Cambie Comm center on weekdays, varies on the days he comes, but usually two or three times a week he will be there. Britannia on Saturday afternoon, BCIT on Sundays. As for the other centers, are the ones he mentions to me about his route.
mainly killarney, renfrew, and bonzer, but i stop by alot of other centers too. so do u know when they stop by at those centers?
Badminton Stores in Vancouver, Canada. Can anyone tell me where can I find badminton stores in Vancouver? Haven't found one so far. I can only find equipment in such stores as SportMart n SportChek, which sell little. I'm looking for a sport store that sells strictly badminton stuff. And also, can anyone recommend someone/place who do the stringing? Thanks. Absinthe.
