I have 2 rackets strung 25 lbs at different places, one at Kemin(Beauty World) and the other Gala Sports(Queensway). However the Gala one has a more solid feel and produces a higher pitch when struck. According to my regular stringer Kemin, it all depends on the machine used. Different calibrations can produce tensions with 2 to 3 lbs variance. The question now is which stringer has the most accurate tension? Any comments anyone?
Gala uses an electronic machine; Kemin uses a manual crank. both places i've experiences. my opinion is that Kemin is more accurate, whereas Gala strings the tension higher
Gala is more accurate actually. The electronic machine is constant pull. Kemin's crank locks out after reaching the reference tension.
Given both machine are calibrated correctly, I agree with Master Pete LSD (I think he is not smoking LSD right at this moment). However, just find a stringer you can trust and just stick with that person.
may i ask, are these two rackets the same or differentcuz, if this factor comes in then the purpose of asking this question would be defeated but i would believe that electronic would be more precise then human hands
Yup, the tension at kemin is more accurate. In Singapore, usually people will go to places where the tension is tighter, like 24 in gala will be 25 at kemin. so people will have the mentality that gala is better, thinking that gala produces better stringing services because their 24 is tighter than normal. But in actual fact, i think they calibrated their machine higher.
i have strung 2 identical rackets using same kind of strings at the same tension. Basically, Kemin did not let me down, but Gala's stringing feels not the same
