I know that both of these shuttlecocks are similar but i am planning to by 50 tubes from http://www.badmintonshoponline.us/unlimitshop/index.php?cPath=2_38&sort=2a&filter_id=7 $760US for 50 Tubes RSL Classic Tourney Shuttlecocks $680US for 50 Tubes RSL Tourney No.1 Shuttlesocks Is it worth spending the extra money to get the Classic Tourney?
yes, it is worth to spend more for the much better shuttlecock. durability; 1 classic tourney : 3 tourney no.1
Last year i bought some Classic Tourney as well as some Tourney No1. They seemed to be as durable and also kept the flight projection. However the No1 for some reason seemed to lose speed after a while when playing. Maybe it was just a weird batch but that was my experience.
i'm using tourney #1 at the moment. lasts well and maintained flight for quite sometime. however, feathers were quite fragile. can get ruffled during 3-4 drives.
i currently use the No.1's during my team practices, they are arguebly the best feather birds for its price. They do infact last much longer than the classic tourny's but as wocdam said, the feathers are quite fragile.
Same here. For the price it's a very good shuttle. The feathers are quite fragile sometimes. And like Wirre mentioned, the shuttle seemed to lose speed after a while playing. It looks like the feathers bowing to the outside.
just for info, i got the RSL tourney #1 for 16USD per tube here in singapore. so $680 for 50 tubes is a saving of $2.40USD per tube.
i've tried the Classic Tourneys. They're pretty good, I'm also going to try No1s soon but i've heard Classics have better durablity.
Not sure if this is allowed in the forum but I am trying to bring in some tubes, probably 10 tubes, of RSL CLASSSIC Tourney. However I do not require that many tubes for my first trial. Any Singaporean, who wishes to chip in with me, do PM me.
Here is one way you can tell the difference between RSL Tourney #1 and Classic. Just use your thumb and index finger to feel the thickness of the individual feathers and their spines. You should be able to feel the difference. If not use a micrometer.
it is true... lose speed about after 15points(jz estimate) in my opinion classic is durable n consistent speed.... go for it!
I've tried both, CLASSIC is better than #1 but after a few powerful whacks the birdie will slightly deformed and the flight is 'wobbly'.
Oh... how come the price that i seem is $839.95 per 50 Classic? Anyway, what i suggest is, get the Classic one, if you still not happy with them, you don't need to try No.1 any more.
