i am not too sure where does this thread fit in (so mods, move it as you wish). look at the player closest to the camera. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSfy8jgzB60 don't you think he wastes too much time? if i were the other guy, i would've complaint to the umpire or at least tell him to get going with the game. he also exerts a certain arrogance and disrespect (on court, maybe off court too, who knows) that i cannot stand at all. i can watch CY-FHF, LD, TH, LCW (and other players) 'taunt' their opponents with no problem whatsoever but give me a break, who does this boy think he is? no respect whatsoever, from my POV, towards his opponent.
p.s. i am in no way affiliated with any of the players. it is just a video that i downloaded off the net and uploaded to youtube for you guys.
just 17 years old..imagine if he is older and more cocky.... spells trouble... he moves quite slowly i think he is very very tired....tryin to play a phycho game but fails badly..
Yes the rules regarding service are to do with the contact point and the racket hand. It is perfectly legal (But not pretty)
As stated, he was obviously tired. Those were the last few points of the match (which he won). Not sure how he played in the beginning. Also, he is taking a lot of advantage of the situation. I think he is smart. If you were the opponent, you should complain to the umpire. I did not see the other kid complain. So, no issues there. Yes, he is deliberately slow and would annoy me if I was his opponent. But then, I would have complained it the second time he did it. I have seen a lot of players in club and tournament level who do stuff like this. For me, they are no different than those who rush the serve and don't care if you are ready or even looking. Bad sportsmanship? Yes. But who doesn't do that? Even international players push it sometimes.
if he is tired, he should have save his breath by not yelling psychotically. his performance was definitely a comedy show for me. laughing my head off.
when i have the chance to play against him... i'll make sure that every chance balls that he'll give me will go directly into his body/face... lol very annoying player...
he's stalling the game either he's tired, or wants more time to think~ eitherway, he forfeits the 5 second service rule
hey, it's about the mental game , not that i endorse his style of play...very annoying agreed....but the yelling and the taking time is really pushing it...if i was the guy furthest away, i'd take my sweet ass time too....but LONGER THAN HIS...and yell LOUDER THAN HIM...see how he likes it ....maybe it'd work =P
Arrogant and annoying. No sportmanship whatsoever. The pro's are very different, because they both take a small walk to relax and plan. This was just pathetic.
this guy pisses me off but he should have complained earlier... so its kinda the other guy's fault as well. he's not bad though
Anyone finish watching it, thought I would not recommend it. I thought he showed a total lack of respect to his opponent. When his opponent made a mistake - not a forced error - he yelled yes extremely loudly. Now, we don't know the circumstances of the game...i.e finals, regional etc, but I still think theres no respect to his opponent.
The only reason I would play somebody like that was to kick his butt in front of his girlfriend (if he even had one).
I'm sure that he's the type of person who flicks the racquet forward and backwards so many times before serving, in a doubles backhand serve. I dont know why some people wants to waste time like that..
thanks for sharing this absolutely hilarious vid!! i couldn't stop laughing at his behaviour. obviously he's hoping to affect his opponent emotionally, and stall for time... i believe his opponent can just complain to the umpire. This seldom happens to me because my opponent usually have better stamina than me...haaha.
Wow! what an annoying person to play with, takes way too much time, and this is based on my one minute view of this tape
