i have a sotx woven 7 which i bought almost a year ago laying around. i decided to use it the next day for fun. i normally use the sotx woven 11. the racket still performed exceptionally well. the string was a bit gone but it was still alright.

i recently sold a new sotx woven 7 and strung it on request of the customer. after i finished i pounded the string and you get the usual TING TING sound. i tested the stiffness... WAIT HANG ON?! this new sotx woven 7 was actually a bit more stiffer then my old sotx woven 7! i grabbed another new sotx woven 7 and tested the stiffness. it was again stiffer then my sotx woven 7!

i also have a yonex armortec 800 offense laying around which i also bought a year ago. i went to the local yonex retailer in curiousity to test their yonex armortec 800 offense display models. it was also a bit stiffer then my yonex armortec 800 offense!

the question is, do rackets lose their stiffness over time? do yours?

I’ve never experienced this before. Were those Woven 7’s different? Woven 7 and 7i? That could explain a lot. However for the AT-800, I’ve got no clue.

Remember, the rackets do have to go in with a breaking peorid first. In otherwords, there is no surprize that the unused racket will feel stiffer to a used one.

Don't you wish there is the equivalent of a blue pill for used racquets. Make them stiff again :p;):D:cool:.

Ya, I've had the same experience. Comparing my Woven 8 to my friends new Woven 8, his is a bit stiffer than mine. Rackets tend to get a bit flexier the more you use it.

Graphite will break down over time as stress is repeatedly applied to it.
