Hello everyone, I play badminton for more than 6 years now, in club (~8/10 hours/week) and do some competitions in the Paris area.
    I play with Armortec 500.

    Hello,

Answer in English for everyone ;)
Unfortunately I was on holidays during the SuperSeries in Paris but I am not watching as much videos as I can.
    I am C3/C3/C4 (singles/double/mixed French rating)

Welcome Naxos. It is very rare that we have new members from France. We used to have a very active BC member by the name of seven who should be around your age and plays at a good level. He told us something about your club competitions there and how his club then advanced in standing.

I do miss seven and wonder how he's doing! :)

I wonder and I am sure there are threads about how competitions are organized in other countries but in France, we have the chance to have a very well organized system for ALL players: beginners to professionals!! Unfortunately, I am aware of this only when I am not there anymore to enjoy it... =(

    Welcome To France

    Bienvenue au forum, Naxos. :)

    (For the linguistically challenged... :p)
Welcome to the forum, Naxos. :)
We have good people (that's me), bad people (that's cooler) and very bad people (that's cooler again). :D

Don't hesitate to tell me if my French is good.
However, if it sucks, please blame my Mac.
I'm using the translator in the Leopard OS.

    Ah, now you know

Thank you all! Badminton spirit is such nice and welcoming!

Actually it is not that bad, but "it sucks" cannot be translated litteraly this way. The verb "to suck" in french is quite often used in slang, if you see what I mean...

Um, I'd really like to know what it should've been :D
Of course, I wasn't referring to Chloe Sevigny

"It sucks" would rather be translated in "ça craint" ;)

I'd rather die than speak French :D
The last time I tried it, the salesgirl ran away (possibly to call the bouncers)

Yet there are a few lines I've learnt to pronounce correctly and clearly:
    Vous êtes très beau
Vous devez être une actrice ou un modèle
La France est un grand pays
Il est trop cher pour moi

Of course, these are very useful phrases ;)
You might want to learn them too :p
(but I have a feeling you know your French :))

You would want to say Vous êtes très belle; beau means that you're handsome (and only works for guys:p); Don't go calling pretty ladies beau if you want to sound cultured:D:D.
