Hi Slim, A quick crash course. 1) usually the original grip come with the racquet are not too tacky or they wear out over time. So people put over grip to keep the original grip look new and keep the tackiness of the grip. 2) There are only a few companies that is still making oval shaped badminton racquet. The major one is Yonex. Their oval shaped racquet models is Carbonex. People refer them as Cab## from the catalog number. With that said, here are my questions. 1) where do you live (So Cal I presume)? You might be able to fine a club or shop to demo the Yonex Carbonex model racquet. 2) from your post, I will recommend Yonex Carbonex 30ms because your all around style and that is the latest and best oval head shaped racquet out there right now (IMHO).
