Seeing that I knew my badminton, the storekeeper didn't try to pass it off as a genuine Yonex racquet. Instead, he told me upfront that it was a fake ("original duplicate" is the term he used) and asked if I were interested. He quoted USD 20.

    ========================

"original duplicate" is lie word too.

If like that ,it means somebody take semi-final products out of

factory.Where were the guards then ? If they(fake rackets maker) really

have that convenience, why not take out final products ,they can sell with a

    better price

'Original duplicate' has none of the meanings you are so worked up about.

What he meant is 'a duplicate product as good as the original'
To me, it's still a fake.

You should buy some genuine racket from some special and professional sport shop. They sell the genuine and they are creditable. There are many fake racket in China, that is the fact, but ,its market is not you who play the badminton professional...the fake racket are draw 'yonex' but almost every body knows that it's not the genuine one because of the low price and poor quality. Many people just wanna play badminton as a normal sport or game rather a competition...so that no need to buy some high price YY's racket. My first racket in many year ago was a fake racket worth 75 Yuan RMB...it was enough for one totally freshman. Yes, ...fake is not a correct things...but who can stop it?no body...Like the MP3, Movies and Software from Internet through P2P...Somebody said Existent things are always reasonable...I don't agree overall, but it may be with reason in some degree...=.=!!

1.Most posiblly ,there are defects in the fake rackets ,how can you image

that your rackets break into pieces and flying towards your playmates ?

2.The painting , fake racket use really cheap paint ,it is harmful to your body.

Even in a normal factory ,the workers who do painting work wear like

astronaut , and ,whenever a worker doing that job for over 3 years, he must
change to other job according the law ,why them do that??

In china, most of ppl's reason to buy fake yonex racket is because they're cheap.Playability fits most of the beginners in badminton. It's not designed for those intermediate or advanced players, since they have more power on the swings than the beginners. An intermediate or advanced player should knows well for which racket he's going to use, which fits him/her.Oh yeah..u cant forget about the looks n the offer.

The looks imitating the real yonex racket, which made ppl think.."oh..i got a yonex racket"."At least look like it".

    The offer..most people just couldn't resist the offer..esp beginners,those who r not yet willing to spend alot on a racket.For less than 100 rmb,someone can buy any models,any weight,..plus a bg65(25rmb) n a cheap overgrip(5rmb) as a bonus.

I cant help to say,the fake has somehow became an alternative for some people, esp the beginners. It's not actually made to fool a buyer who wanted to buy a genuine one. These cases r appearing most from the online shopping..n has causing loss for those who got less experience.

For the uninitiated, this is Singaporean English (or Singlish).
It means: If it looks fierce and sounds fierce, it's good enough.

Although the original reference is to a car, it applies equally well to racquets for recreational badminton.
