HI Guys, I'm an intermediate player, currently using 2 head light raquets one of xhich is the N6000 (24lb, BG66). My game getting a little bit better, more attacking but still lacking smash power, I would like to shift to a more attacking raquet but not extra stiff. Do you have any recommendation ? Many thx
i hope more people will answer to this thread. i am using NS 6000 as well mainly for doubles as it is a fast racket and the power is not bad too but i am suffering a bit with this racket in singles. not enough power to really pressure the opponent.
hi, i think i can understand your situation. NS 6000 is a flexible racket but it does feel medium to me. anyway.. maybe you should not go for such a drastic change from headlight to head heavy. i think it would be good if you find a racket that is even balance. there are quite a few from yonex such as MP45 or Arcsaber 7 or MP 29 light, MP21. the last 2 are not high end rackets but who's to say they cannot produce enough power? i personally am choosing between MP 45 or Arcsaber 7 as my next racket. both rackets are medium stiff. hope this helps.
Try the at500, it's about even balance, and can produce a good amount of power. Not a though racquet to handle. See if you can demo it.
If you want to try, you could put lead tape or some sort of tape on the top of your racket. It makes the head heavier, and you should still be use to the weight of your racket. The extra weight of the tape should make your smashes better while it won't affect your movements that much. if you decided to switch rackets, then it might take some time to adapt to it.
I'm suprised no one has tried to tie a brick to the head of their racquets. That would give you the headheavies racquet in the world. Think of how insane your smashes would be. Defense would be a bit lacking, but that's not an issue, is it?
using ns 5k but i've got new ti 10 comming which is little head heavier and much more stiff. i'll tell you by this sunday
BadGone, have a look at these: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?p=718959#post718959 The seller lives in Germany, and I think these rackets do suit you. They are X-stiff, but they produce a lot of power.
why tie a brick to your racket when it can easily swing back and emasculate you? Use a frozen turkey, it's big and round, and people will be scared of you. But watch out if it drips cuz like you'll slip.
theres many variables in producing power, and while some will say balance of the racquet will play a role, i think its quite minor. theres lots of players who use pretty head light racquets and still produce massive power with them, since ultimately the player makes the power, not the racquet, right? have you tried various different strings and tensions to see if it might bump up the power a bit? i don't want to mention it here, since we're in the equipment forums, and not general/technique, but theres also the option of playing around and trying out different stuff with your stroke technique a bit which might in the end, turn out to be a more rewarding/enlightening and much cheaper alternative. i think a fully frozen turkey through and through will still hurt you just as much as a brick. and worse, it'll put an even bigger dent in your ego than any brick can do.
Make that the second! XD I really do find it perfect in terms of balance and def/off is easy to pull off as well -____________-;;
I too find that it's well balanced... for me. For anybody else, and on the technical side of things, having a 310mm balance point even with overgrip is just seriously head heavy compared to other racquets.
