My best bet will be on Andre (yet again) this time... He can defeat Andrew Smith and Bjoern Joppien. Their playing style fit his strength... Can't say the same about Dicky Palyama, though... So... maybe Andre can be a finalist again....
From the score..looked like she was winning....why did she retired?hope not too serious

Good work...Andre Kurniawan Tedjono vs Kestusis Navickas in R16 to be played in around 2 hrs later. Also, Sartono Ekopranoto vs Dicky Palyama [1].

We also have R32 and R16 of WS to be played now and in the next 3-4 hrs, before the MD matches are going to be played. Hmm....

Maria Febe Kusumastuti has beaten the top-seed Petya Nedeltcheva 21-11, 21-16. A good job by her in qualifying for the Quarter-Final tomorrow. She will probably face Kanako Yonekura.

Andre Kurniawan Tedjono [8] continues his good run in Europe after another straight set 21-15, 21-10 victory over Kestusis Navickas and progress to the Quarter-Final. The going gets tougher tomorrow as he faces Wu Yunyong, who just beat the second-seed Andrew Smith also in straight sets 21-18, 21-19.

The Quarter-Final matchups in Men's Singles:
Dicky Palyama [1] vs Arvind Bhat
Sho Sasaki [3] vs Stephan Wojcikiewicz
Bjorn Joppien [6] vs Andrew Dabeka [4]
Andre Kurniawan Tedjono [8] vs Yu Yunyong

Correct! Kanako has also won her match, so yes, in tomorrow's quarterfinals, Febe vs. Kanako... Another tough test for Febe...

Rendra Wijaya/Fran Kurniawan beat their first round opponent easily 21-12, 21-12. They will meet the third-seed Mike Beres/William Milroy later on.

Meanwhile Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki will begin their first round match soon.

A good start for Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki as they beat Philip Kastaros/Daniel Grassmueck 21-9, 21-15 in just 18 mins. They will meet a Danish pair Morten T. Kronborg/Christopher Bruun Jensen 2 hrs later.

Go Rian-Yoke... Yeah, I think it is to be expected that they destroyed the Austrian pair. Save some energy for the next round...

They should have no problems in advancing to the QF. Rendra/Fran might be slightly troubled with Beres/Milroy.

As for the QF, Rendra/Fran might go out, facing Boe/Mogensen. As for Rian/Yoke, they might face a tricky tie against the Russian second-seed, Durkin/Nikolaenko, then Hopp/Kindervater in the SF. Interestingly, they have beaten their likely opponents for QF and SF in the Dutch Open. So, by right, they should advance to the Final, facing either Boe/Mogensen or Bach/Malaythong Khan.

Japan has a realistic chance to put 3 seminalist tomorrow. Plus one German, I think... Wow, a reunion of the World War II Axis powers in WS...

Too bad the local favorite, Agnese Allegrini, has to go today... I suspect the crowd won't have too many local favorites left after today... I will guess, they might have none at all by tomorrow night...

I wonder if the crowd still want to see badminton if there are no local stars anymore... In Asia, they do, but in Italy... mmm maybe not...
