I just got these two photos from another forum. Shocking thing is that, the Japanese player, Mori, is using AT900P with only 21lb tension......
NBG are not that popular around the world, I guess. All these BG66, 65 and 80 can be bought as bulk rolls, I guess. That is why players get their hand easily on these strings instead of the others.
Wong Mew Choo from Malaysia seems to be using nbg95.. because there's no such thing as a 'bg95', right ?
66 is not bulk unless it's 66 sharp. never knew that so many pros would use bg 80 because people kept saying 65 or 65 ti.
Check out My Olympic for LCW lol he has a ton in his bag. I never knew LCW used BG66 at 30lbs. No wonder he needs 5 racquets restrung.
Pete, I have no idea, maybe. I know the guy who took these photos is from the press. Apparently he goes to most China and Hong Kong matches as photo journalist himself. Judging from the list, the norm is around 28-30lb at the moment. I just don't understand why the Europeans prefer such high tensions. Just a note here to warn people here. High tension is harmful to your wrist if you are not used to it. If you jump from, say 22lb to 28lb in one go, I am sure you will find it a hard time to adjust (yes yes, I know, some may disagree). But one should experiment and increase the tension step by step. Just don't blindly follow what the pros do.
yes. ES5 Pro were used in China Open. the Yonex stringing booth is outside the stadium in a little tent. sorry i didn't take any photos.
yes. i was there as a photojournalist. you can check out some of my experience in my thread in the forum, as well as some photos i took. i probably saw your friend in the media center but i don't know many people's name.
