In September it was scheduled for Jan 4-6, but now I don't see it on the OBA schedule anymore. Does anyone know what happened to it? Was it cancelled or rescheduled??
It's still listed on the Badminton Canada site though: http://www.badminton.ca/tournamentcalendar_event.aspx?id=786&calendarid=17
You are right, it is--I was thrown off by the name but I checked on TournamentSoftware.com and it is the same (Humber College, same date, etc.) Thanks.
So who thinks who is going to win what? I'm gonna go with the obvious and say mike beres for mixed and doubles but maybe kokee chen or cao chen will win for doubles, I'm kind of excited to watch efendi and charles play but I'll be watching at the exibition on sat anyways. Who are you guys excited about? and predictions? oh for ws gonna guess michelle li
Mike Beres will probably meet Charles Pyne in the finals...as for doubles, maybe Cao Chen, Kokkee Chen and Brian Privoe can make some noise aside from the obviously Mike Beres combo. I'd like to see Effendi go far as well!
Me and my friend were just talking about Efendi today too, it's weird because he seems to get hurt a lot during tournaments so he can never get as far as he should be able to. But regardless if Hariawan played in the toronto open he will win MS for sure.
It'll be pretty hard for Kokkee to win considering he left for Malaysia a few weeks ago for good...unless someone sponsors him and pays for his airfare and all....I don't think it's going to happen. Look more for Cao Chen + either Quang Hoang or Brian Prevoe.
If Hariawan played, they should just give him the award and just have everyone else play for 2nd place. He's that good and that much above and beyond all other Canadian players.
agreed. Hariawan is above and beyond any player in Canada right now. The speed of play and shot selection is just too different. Charles Pyne may be able to match the power, but probably can't match the physical fitness of Hariawan who I believe, still trains full-time in Indonesia? The quality of sparring partners makes a huge difference too.
Yeah, Hariawan will be dominant if he's there, for singles at least. I want to win men's doubles B or C!
I think whoever partners with Cao(Kevin) chen is going to win doubles. Saw him play at mando and he is a monster. I understand why he's world junior doubles champ now. Going to go watch, will play in it next year. Good luck bobby
