Hi guys, just curious. How long was your fastest stringing record(inclusive of weaving)? My record was: 10mins - weaving 25mins - stringing Total: 35mins.
Good Idea for a topic Sgbad, I would like to know even though I personally don't do stringing myself.
How long it takes me... For a 1-piece stringjob I normally take about 15 min to 'weave' (pre-string), 15 min to tension ('crank'/'pull') plus another 5 min to straighten the crosses & 'check' the stringjob... I notice that it takes me a good 5 min more for 2-piece stringjobs... I'm not a pro-stringer, so I tend to focus on consistency & getting the job done well. Speed is not my forte, since it compromises quality (for me)... Keen to find out how much quicker everyone else gets the job done... Anyways, this is how long it takes me...
My very first job was 2 hrs, my second was 1hr 30min, and my third job was 1hr. Since I'm about to go into business doing this, speed IS my thing. I never bother pre-stringing, as I know most badminton patterns off by heart now - I just whack the empty frame onto the machine and get straight to the fun part. I can tension mains in about eight to ten minutes; the thing that REALLY eats into my times is weaving, which is what I'm endeavouring to improve. I used to be paranoid about mis-weaving, but not so much now.
i cant get it under one hour. some rackets get close, but i lose too much time messing with shared grommits and weaving the crosses. Once i have it mounted i can get the mains done in about 15 minutes, but if i try to weave too many crosses, the strings starts to coil and chafe and the whole thing gets really bogged down and slow I need to loosen out each cross and make sure its not coiled before it tension it. sucks.
2 piece method: 2 mins pre-weave 17 mins stringing --> 19 mins..n yes I actually timed myself before..lol
I haven't got a stringing machine because I am only 13 but I will ask the person that strings my racket how long it takes him. He owns a badminton shop and he's always got loads of rackets in for stringing so I bet he would be fast !
any normal stringer out there with decent skill shouldn't take anymore than 20-30 minutes to complete a 2 piece string job some people claim it is so much better when they take a long time..but..many of the don't notice that the longer it takes them to string..the more stress is on the racket for that period of time..=)
Seems like i am not very slow.. I have strung for half a year(around 70rackets) and hope to improve my timing..
That's good~..just remember..being fast is a good thing..but be sure u offer quality at the same level.. lolz sighh..i've strung way beyond the amount of the # of posts I have in this forum in less than 7 months..dunno whether that's a good thing or a bad thing..*shrugs*..keep up the will to improve on your timing..=)
Errr - not true, I do 2 piece (4knots) stringing with a 1 piece pre-weave. Once I finish tensioning the mains, I cut the string and tie off the last main, and proceed to tension the weaved crosses.
Not sure if you're referring to my post, but if you are - still intact, had no problems whatsoever, having done around 1-20 rackets in the past 6 months. My friend who previously has a stringing machine also uses the same technique, and has done a lot of rackets during the time with the machine.
well..it depends how many you've strung too rite..i've broken like..6-7 out of like..400 sth maybe or more..i lost track..lolz..i dun like ns8000's..so brittle..
actually..prob broke a tiny bit more than that..i think i can recall breaking 5 ns8000's for customers including myself..lol..
