There are no textbook answer. It depends on what kind of grip you use, how much you play and how much your hands sweat.

I mainly use the yonex supergrip, and change it when it starts to feel slippery when wet.

Just replace it when it becomes uncomfortable and ruggard.

i change mine when its no longer tacky
note you can use each grip twice by rewrapping it backwards so that the grip part that was used is now covered and what was covered is now on the outside.

When you feel the racket wants to slip out of your hand, change it.

You can actually harvest the fungus and sell, to recoup the grip costs....:D Just kidding!

Try to get cheaper and lasting grips and change whenever you feel uncomfortable...

    Thanks.

only applicable if you did overlap.
as for over-grip such as Kimony, the reverse side also can be used, however it didnt last. so, one can recycle 4 times........:D:D:D
    i am kidding too.......
however, some people do stingy about the grip......;)

I just change them whenever they are worn out or feel like having a fresh grip
