    Hi everyone:

I need some help here. I am currently looking around to buy a new racket. I came across an ad from some liquidation place and their prices are pretty low compared to other places. You know what they say, if it's too good to be true maybe it is. Here are their prices btw

    Yonex Nanospeed 9000- $160
    Yonex Armortec 900 Power- $160
    Yonex Armortec 900 Technique- $160
    Yonex Nanospeed 7000- $155
    Yonex Nanospeed 6000- $140

I am a little suspicious and i was wondering if you guys can give me some tips about how to tell a fake racket from a real one. I am looking at the NS9000 or the AT900P/T. Please help me out.

    Thanks :)

Well usually low class - mid class fakes have a blotchy butt cap with the yonex sign and the "japan" font is uneven. Also make sure the paint job is symmetrical, thats a big tell. Serials and pictures would be better xD

FYI, those are possible liquidation price. Make sure you can go to the place and verify the racquet before you buy. Also, if it is in USA, if those racquets are stung, it is most likely fake because all high end YY racquets in US are sold frame only and stung by shop owner.

yeah sorry i don't have any pictures. Apparently they do "local meet up appointments only" ( even more suspicious right? i can just imagine some guy with a few rackets in the back of his van :p ) that's why i want to learn how to differentiate between real/fake so when i do see the rackets i wont be taken for a chump :p. Thanks for the link about the serial numbers :) anything else other than paint job and strung racket?

Basically, not much else to add but you must be able to reconize what a genuine racket should look like. Once you know this, looking at a fake around, you should be able to know within a blink of an eye after having a quick scan of the racket.
