Hi guys, especially to Singaporean Guys, I'm just wondering why is that in singapore the price for yonex racquetes is much cheaper than any other countries? anyone knows about it? Thanks
Quoted from Gladius: Its not demand that drives the prices if you know economics. Its the relative availability of supply which does. In Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand and Malaysia for that matter, has a whole range of other brand rackets available for the user to choose from. And they aren't exactly lousy stuff, just that they have lower quality consistency. If Yonex were to price themselves like they do in the States and Europe, my, they will lose a lot of business. Inversely, where demand is fixed and supply is limited, they can afford to charge high prices as the demand won't drop too much with that! And to couple off, over at our side of the world, shops selling such equipment are aplenty which compounds it into a consumer's market. Whereas, in the States and Europe, its a suppliers' market as Badminton can be considered a 'specialized' sport there. Hence, a premium. -------------------------------------
