    .
    Greetings,

We have been informed that our venue@Waverley will not be available from Wednesday 2-January-2008 to Friday 25-January-2008 due to maintenance requirements.

We will need to look for another venue to play during this time period.

If you have any suggestions for another venue to play, for our regular Wednesday and Friday sessions, please post your comments/discussions here.

    Cheers... chris@ccc

maybe chop off the social, and hire the box hill forum where we used to be.

But then we have to say no to social, and knowing that you have done really well for the last couple of weeks, this is a huge blow.

And if we chop off social altogether during the janurary time, they might not come back.

CCC Badminton Social@MSAC during January 2008, every Wednesday and Friday night

    .
    Well, Good News arrived today...

MSAC told me today, 27-December-2007, that we could have our CCC sessions there during January 2008, for every Wednesday and Friday night.

It is decided to just have our CCC Social Sessions there @MSAC on Wednesday and Friday nights. Coaching would only be at MSAC on every Sunday morning.

    Cheers... chris@ccc

    i have the following questions
    - since it's at MSAC, would the price structure be the same?
    - how many courts would you be renting?

One good thing for playing at MSAC

    .
The price structure could be the same as CCC@Waverley. The important thing is for us to continue playing Badminton.

The number of courts to be hired will depend on how many of our members will be coming to play at MSAC.

The good thing at MSAC is that we can add or subtract the number of courts to be hired, as the number of our players increases or decreases.

good to hear that you found a place at such short notice

i suppose the no of court hired are going to be determined weekly in advance, rite?

true, but can we do that on the spot, or we have to go by weekly?

Come on, Don't be too serious with this hkhung....well....i believe if they really like to play in this group, venue is not an issue plus CCC@MSAC just only a month.

HOPE you understand what i mean , i dont mean benefit to myself and make others dissappoint....;)

MSAC is the most central Badminton venue in Melbourne

    .
MSAC is the most central Badminton venue in Melbourne.

If we were to choose a closer venue for btchia (coming from the West), it should be Altona. :)

BTW, we hope that our Social@MSAC will now make it easier for players (coming from Central Melbourne) like KetutS, KianF, AmandaQ, LilyG, etc... to attend and play.

The selection of our venue is dependent on our number of CCC members attending.

Lately, our Wednesday Social@Waverley have not been attended by many of our members (coming from the East).

So don't be surprise if our Wednesday Social could be a permanent thing @MSAC. Only time will tell.

But, our Friday Social@Waverley have been going OK... so we would definitely return to Waverley on Friday 1-February-2008.

    Btchia:

apology that i did not read this before seeing you this friday. i know i comes across as "ultra serious" in forum so thanks for clarifying this in person. let's hope you would be a regular blogger of ccc.

i know this is off topic and should be in another thread, but would you be interested in organising CCC Chinese new year dinner/lunch with me? if so, give me a private message or email me in hkhung_80@yahoo.com.au

funny you raise the issue that what people think is important in terms of choice of venue. From my experience of dragging people to CCC from other clubs, here are what i found as important

    - quality of game: good players want tough game, weak players want easy game and so on. then again, some players make special request to play with the weak ones the whole nite

    - the environment friendly or not: if anyone want to ask me about examples of such things, meet me at supper. i got way too many stories to tell, not many of them have a happy ending

    - how organise the place is: it's not easy for anyone to jump in and say "you, you and you are playing" (not trying to sound snobby but MSAC social 1-4pm comes to mind for this one as they have a facilitator who provide shuttle and racket instead of a organizer for organizing games) when you don't even know people's name/standard

as you see, all this comes into extra work for organisation done by chris and all these extra work is under appreciated. So here's a big thank for chris!!

Chinese New Year 2008 is on Thursday 7-February-2008.

Perhaps, we could organise something, either on Saturday 2-February or on Saturday 9-February.

Now, I am off to watch the Fireworks...... to welcome in the New Year 2008 @Docklands !!!. :)

CCC Chinese New Year Dinner 2008: Great that kong-19 can attend

Hi kong-19... It would be great if you can join our CCC Chinese New Year Party this year, since you missed it last year. :):):)

Hi hkhung... Back in 2007, when I was organising our CCC Chinese New Year Dinner, it was kong-19 who accompanied me to various restaurants before we selected one, and to discuss with the restaurant to select what we want for our Banquet Dinner menu. :):):)

It was unfortunate that kong-19 had to return to Brisbane before the CNY Dinner was held.

    Cheers... chris@ccc
