It's made from nylon, so it still won't be anywhere near as stiff as feathers, and therefore won't fly properly or make the right noise.
It uses synthetic cork, so it still won't have the right "feel" when it hits the stringbed.
Compared to most synthetic shuttles, the "feathers" look relatively symmetric, so it won't spin enough, and will therefore be unstable.
Basically, it looks like a very cheap, low quality shuttle, but with the one gimmick of the way the skirt is attached. It might be less (or perhaps more) prone to decapitation, but that's about it.

I just received an e-mail from Mr HY Wang a representative of Winex.
Mr Wang says that the sample I got was not the final version so I will
retest the Nanofly in its final production quality as soon as I get the new samples, the result will be posted here shortly.
"Dear Mr. Lindgren: The sample you received was not the final quality we selling not in Taiwan. We will send you it again. We know the last one still will broken in the skirt. The new one is very good in durability.
HY Wang "

New model with natural cork head
I'd just received my sample of a tube which I will hopefully be able to test these shuttles this coming weekend.
As noted, the shuttle head is not made of natural cork but there is a new version/model with a natural cork head so that might make a difference in the sound when hit.
A cursory inspection of the shuttles that I got reveal it to be the same as Greggan's (as far as I can tell)
Winex Taiwan also forwarded a fact sheet of comparison between the Nanofly, feather and nylon shuttles where the conclusion was that the Nanofly will last as long as 3 feather shuttles.

This is indeed a very positive development for badminton. Getting the polymer right is a very time consuming and difficult process.

Forget about nylon shuttlecocks and don't be mislead by big sounding words like new polymer and nano this nano that. In one word they are all rubbish.
Just one look at the design, which has full of holes and the complete absence of turbine-like blades like in natural feathers, simply mean it will not work. It is misapplication of technology in areas that are useless.
I suggest you forget about the current state of nylon shuttles to stop the rot in badminton standard. Feathers are the only way to play badminton as it should be played.

Sounds a bit conservative to me, Badminton will continue to develop and I bet there is some people out there finding
playing badminton with a plastic racket is nono since a wooden one is the real thing.
One day we will all play syntetic shuttles and refuse to look back at those oooold school bird stuff.
But in some way I do agree with you, we are still not there and maybe/probably some one have to look further
then todays plastic shuttle to find a design that realy plays like feather or why not even better!

Personally like Winex birdies, really nice and affordable for heavy users. Got that from one of the distributors in U.S. Great Deal.
