The other day I hit a kid.
How many of you have ever hit a kid while playing badminton?
The other day a kid ran across the court behind me, and I didn't see him. I seemed to hit him on the head.
Poor kids.
Their parents should tell them not to do that.

Last week it happen in my place too. Is one of my group member. When he was to clear from backline and he dumped the kid. The kid was runnning across the backline area while eating his ice-cream. So the ice-cream was all over the court and he is crying. Worst thing, my friend have to buy him another ice-cream to stop him from crying. Then he sitting with us while waiting for his father in toilet "doing his business". ;-)

I never did it to a kid, but I've done it to my partners several times. Kids should be watched carefully, especially in a badminton court.

well, there have been several times that i nearly steeped on them. usually 6 or under, racing around the gym, and of course, you can't really blame them, they have no idea what lines are what. luckily, i usually "sense" their presence, and stop. or, my friend yells at me.
worse are the basketballs that always roll into our court......

i was hit as a kid by my cousin.
we were playing doubles (i should mention now that we were both kids), and i was covering the front when my cousin smashed his racquet right into the back of my neck.
no serious damage though, was dazed for a bit, but boy did it hurt back then!

its not your fault, they should know not to run into playing arenas when the game is still going on

I stomped on a kid's foot before. Normally I can 'sense' someone behind me(usually occurs at baseline), but it was during a tournament, and it was an intense rally(it must have been, it was one nasty stomp). I was doing an overhead smash/lob, not too sure, and I recall a small kid being there. Must have been 3/4 years old, just up to my waist. The rally went on after that, so I never did have a chance to stop and check the damage done on that lil' kid.
I think the only way to keep lil' kids safe on court would be to give them 2-3 courts all to themselves. Haha. Place some barrier to keep them within.
It's a wild idea, but it seems better than allowing these kids to get themselves.. 'abused' on court. During training I always tell the young ones to stay OUT of the court, but they never ever seem to listen! During jogging, they'll jog INSIDE courts instead of AROUND the courts, and when a game is going on in another court they'll just walk in it, seemingly ignorant of the.. 'dangers'.

if i hit a kid (read: <10years old), probably the kid would need light medical attention. if i bumped the kid and landed on top of the kid, then oops!!! you need to have emergency evacuation.

...However, i've seen a couple of times, as described above, a kid being hit, not one of those ticky-tack hit, accidentally by a racket..And of course, as many of us should know, what ensued after that..
