Now it's beginning to sound like a cage..

Mind you, I was just joking. Unless you really put kids in a cage, they'll climb over anything.
IMHO, if you're gonna bring a kid on court and play without supervising that kid.. don't bring that kid with you. Seriously. It spoils others' game, and increases the possibility of injury to that kid. Play WITH the kid on court.
Then again, I'm too young to give parental advice.

Parents could bribe their children, say sit here and dont move and i'll give you candy later.

Well, if you give them candy now, they'll be immediately distracted
. Distract them as long as you need, unless it results in diabetes.

back when I was a child, my parents would not even allow me to run around. They were really strict. I still remembered when I meddled with the goods on the supermarket shelf or leaned on something, I had a dressing down.
well good thing they were strict. although it made me really silent, but I would not want to see what I am now if they had not diciplined me like that.

dressing down means scolding
by the way i once bumped a kid onto the groud while i was moving backwards...and after that we all scolded him for running into the court. Don't think anyone pitied him though it prolly hurts for him

(you guys probably know/have seen, once in a while, a player will give a soft, medium, loud quick stomp on the floor/court with his/her foot, the same time s/he hits the shuttlecock)..
