    Random question.
Say 1 and half each session. Player is hard working.
How long did it take you?

depent on how your fitness and how much time you spent on your trainning.
i think, it'll take a month include 3 sessions per week, if you are fit. :p

One of my best friend is learning. I'm happy since we would be able to hang out more.
But currently our skill level is very, very far apart.
I would like her to learn how to clear in 2 weeks and hopefully I can teach her to drop, smash, etc. She's getting trained by a coach right now.

if she is trained by a coach then it will be easier for her to absorb what you are trying to teach her. its just the matter of time.

if in good physical shape, and know how to hold a racket properly, then i'll say 2 weeks. practise 30mins for 3 times each day with someone feeding shuttles.

It took me nearly 8 months to clear base-line to base-line.. It took me only about 2 weeks to clear about 4/5 of the court though. I guess I started to make more use of my wrist after I had my racquet restrung at a higher tension though.

completly dependent on the player, but an average player so one that wants to learn and you said there getting coached so they will learn proper technique hum i coach kids and its usually once a week for 1 sesson the older kids 1 and a half hours the younger kids 1 hour and about after 3-4 weeks which is 3-4 sessons in total is 4.5 to 6 hours they can clear full court with ease not having to try hard sometimes its around 2 sessons but they want to learn so yeah.

As long as she is learning froma coach she should have no problem and if shes keen to keep pushing forward and wants to get up to a higher level id say its completly possible to have that done well within a month the clearing part that is. if shes getting more than one lesson a week yeah its deffinetly possible it wont take long, just let it happen dont force it.

For me hum thats hard it didnt take to long maby a few days not even deffinetly shorter than a week maby like 2 or 3 days to learn to clear full court. But its dependent on each player.

Good luck with that and hope that you 2 will get to hang out more and that she will catch up to your level as well as learn to drop and smash too. :)

its alright, 1st things 1st it would be good to make sure that your using forearm pronation when hitting your clear so you can get somebody to watch when you play. if you have any friends who are high level players might want to try to get them to help you or if you attend any public lessons with a coch then that would benifit you as well. But yeah it can deffinetly be fixed.

It also depend son her age and her level fo physical strength. Many younger and teenage girls simply lack the strength to clear baseline to baseline.

If she's willing to put in half an hour a day focussed specifically on clears, her form is good, she has background in badminton, and is old/strong enough, then two weeks will probably cut it.

    She determined.
I think I'm one of the teenage girls that lack the strength. I can only clear a bit in front of the long service line. But I can clear far with, beginners.
But a lot of guys, who have really weird technique and played less than I do can clear farther than I can.

The length of a Clear depends on many factors

    .
    Hi CkcJsm,

To be able to clear from baseline to baseline does not depend on strength alone.

    Other factors play a part in it, such as;
    1. The requirement of power or force exerted onto the shuttlecock
    2. Your stroke production/technique
    3. Your transfer of weight into the shot
    4. Your timing at impact
    5. Your ability to make contact with the 'sweet spot' of the stringbed
    6. The speed of the shuttlecock

For the first 5 points, practice and practice...... preferably, do it with a qualified coach.

But in order to enjoy your Badminton games before you able to clear to the baseline, it is recommended for you to play with faster speed shuttlecocks.

    Cheers... chris@ccc

Thanks, but now I realize I have no timing. Haha. I usually just like "Ohh, its here" and I hit it.
