Places to play in Moreno Valley or Riverside, CA?
Hello folks!
I'm currently looking into getting back into badminton after a hiatus. Played in high school, then during the three years while I lived in Japan, but finding somewhere to play now that I'm back in the States is proving challenging.
Would anyone happen to have suggestions on where I might play in the Moreno Valley or Riverside area, in California, USA?
Thanks for any help!
Edit to add: A bit of searching through old posts has yielded RCC, UCR, and Colton High School as possible locations. Would anyone happen to know whether these sites are still in operation and open to the public?Last edited by Lord Pendragon; 12-28-2007 at 12:47 PM.

Hey..I'm from the same area! Anyways, there is still recreational badminton at the locations you listed above. RCC, UCR and Colton High School are all on winter break at the moment, so no badminton until the new year starts.
BTW: Can one of the Mods move this thread over to USA West? It would be the more appropriate area..Thanks.

Hi there! Thanks for the reply! I guess I shall wait until next week, then contact the various sites for more info regarding skill level, fees, availability of games, etc.
Thanks again for the response. I just might see you around.

Well, after driving out to Colton only to learn the evening was cancelled, it would appear that the Colten High School badminton situation may be tenuous, at best.
Would anyone happen to have a website or contact person I could reach to find out the details of the badminton at UCR or RCC?
Thanks in advance.

Apparently Colton High School is closed on Mondays this month. RCC is also closed for January. Badminton at UCR requires you to be a UC student or sponsored by one if you want to enter for 5 dollars. I don't know if you can use the recreation center without student sponsorship.
You can still go to Colton on Sunday mornings.

Thanks for the info, Saintdragon.
The man I spoke with at Colton High School on Monday said he thought Sunday would be cancelled as well, but I will call the organizer and see if I can get some direct information.
Though I was an alumni at UCR, I don't know any current students, so it may be time to look into RCC come February, if CHS doesn't work out.

I was wondering, i live in riverside, and i really wanted to get together with some of my old badminton teammates from high school and play some badminton. i tried rcc saturday night, but they had cheerleading going on in the gym instead. also, im about to try colton high school tonight in hope that they still do badminton on monday nights. is this still accurate that they do badminton monday nights at rcc, sunday mornings at colton and monday nights at colton? i really want to find a place to play in the inland empire! please help me out!!

RCC isn't open at the moment due to lack of funding from the school. Colton High School is still open and I'm usually there Monday nights. If you don't mind driving 40 minutes to Pomona, there is now SGVBC 2 minutes away from Cal Poly Pomona.
