    What are everybody's suggestions?

Lightroom and Photoshop CS2 are pretty good. Photoshop is very expensive, has a long learning curve, and cumbersome with many photos.

Canon's DPP is very fast, especially when scanning the RAW photos. Good for quick fixes in RAW but no means to add text to the photos.

Are we talking Macs or PCs here? :D

For Macs, if not Photoshop, I'd recommend Aperture :)

There's a 30-day trial offer... no harm in checking it out ;)
Um, you might even decide to trash your PCs :p

I use photoshop 6 for most of the time and use CS2 occasionally.
