Just curious if any1 has ever used hypnosis especially in regards to badminton. I have seen cds on hypnosis and sports enhancement and badminton but not sure if they work.

Has any1 eva used these cds, & if yes, do they work?

Has any1 ever used hypnosis in any other area of there life, & if they did, did it work?

Well, I for one had a huge laugh subscribing to http://www.badmintonsecrets.com/

that's the closest to it I know...

I had subscribed to a mailing system he had a year ago or so... If his book is like that, I wouldn't recommend it..

EDIT: wait, I just did a search on it...It has already been discussed aplenty, I hope i didn't open pandora's box

The mind said YES, but the body said SORRY

    .
Regarding to Badminton, you must have heard this saying from players quite often...

"The mind said YES, but the body said SORRY". :):):)

    stiff shaft

Yeah, I tried to use hypnosis to make my racquet shaft stiffer.;) (this is the best thing come close to the blue pill that works) I thought it would enhence my play(Peter the Great, you know which play). Then I realized that although it is how you use the tool, the stiffness is still needed.:D

but seriously guys, has any1 even eva used positive self thinking or self hypnosis to improve their game if if yes, did it work.

I played a match last nite, first game, made a gud few mistakes but just said to myself, forget about it, im not a machine, il get it rite next time, my partner on the otherhand was not so positive, we ended up losing match (mainly my fault but in last game mainly his fault - he started making lot more unforced errors. But in second match, couldn't put a foot wrong, everything just went perfectly & we won 2 - 0 easily, of course wit a different partner.

By self-hypnosis do you mean self-motivation?

Once I was playing a really tough match, so I told myself that if I win, I'll pig out on chocolate when I get home. It worked :).

Sure, hypnosis can teach you to stop "thinking" and just "go with the flow." That's certainly a very useful mental ability for sport performance.

Some people that practise disciplines of martial arts and various other fighting tecniques (-->think I spelt it right) more seriously are required to learn how to focus solely on the fight and to filter out anything that doesn't affect the outcome of the fight. I think that it's more of a self-motivational thing rather than hynosis, because the definition of hynosis is 'a state that resembles sleep but that is induced by suggestion'.

    Motivation is one thing.

If you're talkin about hypnosis that make u into a zombie to do what ever it takes to win, and become numb to what your body is screaming at you.... I think that's just dangerous.

If it's not that.. then i dun think it's hypnosis... just false advertising :D
