Hi recently i went to a big 5 store and all they had were feather shuttlecocks so i decided to buy 2 3-packs of them. the cylinder is red so it seems like the best quality. anyway when i was practicing with them with my friend, i noticed the feathers on the birdies were falling off really quickly. After 30 minutes my first birdie was already missing half the feathers. although the performance was still really good is it supposed to be losing its feathers like that because these are supposed to be really high durability

    1) WOW, you got it at Big5? How much did you pay for it?
    2) Did you add water to the cap to hydrate the birds the night before?
    3) Yeah, if it is not done, the feather breaks off quick. If you over hydrate it, the cork gets soft.
    4) I will go with Sosan black for really good players and Chao Pai green with regular game.

Hi there! I saw the Wilson shuttlecock yesterday. I was looking for a tube but the store doesn't have RSL. The sales lady told me to get the wilson but I was hesitant because I dont usually see people using them. What caught my attention was the container (smart tube lid) inside shown by the picture from the outside.

Had bad impression of Wilson - played with some of it a couple of times - two power smashes and cork flies off the shuttle or cracks.

If a feather shuttle can last you 30 minutes of playing time, then the durability is considered to be quite good. During intensive double games (even at competitive club levles), top of line shuttles can hardly last for more than 2 games (i.e 20-30 minutes)

$8 is VERY expensive because I believe it's a 3 pcs/tube, that is about $24/dz. For that price, you can get IBF approved top grade shuttlecocks. And the shuttlecocks at Big 5 IS NOT a good grade, but for recreational play. Even a top grade shuttlecocks can only last less than 1 game, about 15-20 minutes. So if you can get 30 minutes out of it, consider it a very durable.
