I know its kind of not-too-smart question. i mean he is mr.Yoyo.mr.haha.mr habis hasBeen etc etc... What kind of hope we can put on him? but here,i hope we can still stand behind him n give the support. its not going to be an easy task to support hafiz hashim but can we? a journey to olympic is not going to be esay for hafiz too. he'll face lcw in the first round in Mas Open. then,he'll face Taufik(if i was not mistaken) in the first round in Korea open. will be tough for hafiz to collect points n qualified himself to olympic. is he really hiopeless?prove us wrong, hafiz.give us somthing to cheer u. Be apart of malaysia team in '08 olympic.ur task is to complete the dream. Is there any chance for him, guys n gals, ladies n gentlemen?
If....i say if.....he 1. put away his beloved yo-yo 2. Be concentrate in Badminton 3. able to improve his game drastically 4. Able to beat players like TH,LD, LCW, SDK..etc...consistantly before April 5. Able to enter at least SF for every tournaments he plays...... I think he still got hope.....Or just hope for some withdrawals during the Olympic Beijing 08... Then i think he still able to play in Olympic 08...Common Hafiz..go..go
what i can understand the 'meaning' of the title above is "does hafidz really want to play in olympic 2008 ?"
Can Hafiz reach the Olympics in Beijing? His performance has been dropping. In order to qualify for Beijing's Olympics, he has to be ranked at least 16 in the world ranking by April 08.
being in top16 rank isnt tat hard for him... he can just go n play gp events instead of ss.... BUT, how will he do in OG?? first round sayonara?? might as well don go!
if WCH continues to pick up more points then him, and prgress further than him, he wont even make it to Beijing... so, unless he really gets going these next 3 months, no...
Hafiz has such great potential. If only: 1) He reduces his trick shots (easy) 2) Improves his fitness (easy also if you don't mind suffering every day) What a waste of potential.
During an interview, he once admitted that he doesnt like to go gym or jogging or any kind of fitness training. He prefers on-court sparrings and thats why he always running out of gas during the games. Dont blame him, he looks heavy, isnt he?
really clear ha? typical answer from a malaysian(i assume u are a malaysian) i want us-the malaysians to give some hope for hafiz.he is 25.less time to proves himself.theres no much more time.its now. when i say beijing will be the indicator whether he can survive in his career,i mean it.
i am malaysian, and yeah, i'm supportive of the MAS squad. i think hafiz has been given every opportunity to excel in this sport, his skills are undisputed, it's really just his attitude and approach to the game which i dislike. i would love to see him do well, i was there in birmingham when he won the all-england in 2003 and cheered like mad for him, was really happy to see him lift the trophy. however his antics and performances since then have left me .... errrmmmmm .... disillusioned.
just hope hafiz understand what i feel about his downfall. give me something to keep cheer for him.chances have been given for years,n theres nothing he do to repay us.
Little sis, I'll be direct. You know that I support Msia players. He either buck up 300% or no, he wont make it. Only 4.5 mths till end of OG qualifying. From Hafiz current state, I'll rather WCH or KLRC's Lee TS be the 2nd MS in OG. AE was 2003, past 4 years he has had no major titles to shout about, his fighting spirit is much lacking. Even his bro Roslin, who's 32, has more fighting spirit.
i do really understand the facts. big sis,im talking about hopes here. feelings stuff not tacticals stuff.all this while we have been given him so much hopes,n we are getting sick of him.we are ignoring him now. i just want malaysians to once again have faith on hafiz.does he deserved it? tough question.but im hoping us to do so.
I agree trick shots do not work when facing top players, only work when playing aganst players like me...hehehe!!! As for improving fitness, that is tougher than heck to do for a married person...I am not sure if you are married or not or just gotten married, like HH...that is tough to get up in the morning to run, jog and train and go home at night with a wife waiting...and got paid dinky pay (therefore I understand why HH complained and blame BAM about differential payments when he is playing professional)hehehe!!! It is tough job being married, you know...hehehe!!!
Most Olympians postpone their weddings to after the Olympics . It's too late. I couldn't understand how some people could wish/plan to enter the Olympics if they haven't started preparing for it years in advance. And talking about marriage...... most Olympians postpone their weddings to after the Olympics. .
shima would not wait for another 7 years.they have been too long dating. the reason is defined. shima is not a factor of his dowfall. blaming his marriage???whats wrong with u guys?
Most Olympians postpone their weddings to after the Olympics . It's too late. is my answer to the thread title "Beijing is on Hafiz' mind - but can he make it?" . . Giving support to HH is one thing, but giving support to his other teammates has to be considered as well. Only a maximum of 2 Mens Singles from Malaysia could be going to Beijing OG 2008, since Malaysia is unlikely to have 4 MS players in the top 4 in the world ranking, otherwise 3 would be going. Since LCW has taken up one of the 2 berths, there is only ONE BERTH left for the following players, namely WCH, HH, LTS, RH, YKB, and SA (named here according to their current world rankings). WCH should be getting more support than HH... because WCH has been producing better results. It is not that we do not want to support HH, but we want to give support the better candidates. Looking at the way things are going, perhaps LTS could even overtake HH in the next few months. . . We could see that WCH was planning to enter the OG 2008, participating in it as his last big event. We could see that he started planning for it since the last OG. And, if WCH was not injured from the last Thomas Cup event, he would be way in front of HH, thus giving no hope/chance to HH for the OG 2008. My quote of "I couldn't understand how some people could wish/plan to enter the Olympics if they haven't started preparing for it years in advance" was based on the statements from HH's coach, Misbun, saying that HH didn't even attend many his training sessions. Even if HH is intending to attend all the training sessions from today onwards, I believe that "It's too late". . . My quote "most Olympians postpone their weddings to after the Olympics" is a general comment for most Olympians (Badminton or not). We are saying that most Olympians concentrate so hard to train well that they are willing to postpone their weddings. The general comment cannot be taken as they must postpone their weddings in order to show the world that they have made sacrifices. At Beijing, we are more concerned with how one can perform, not what sacrifices one has made. .
