though i will NOT be playing (already have a fri regular group), i can pass the net for your mar 7 game but need it back for my mar 9 (sun group) game.

credit goes to lauti for inviting me to a game over at the courts there. i didnt know courts were available there either, till recently. speaking of lauti... where are u? is friday night a good time for u?

judging from the response so far, i think we'll have to play singles this fri

well either that, or keep a lookout here. if we dont get at least 5 people indicating that they can come on the 7th by tue night, i may have to call up the town council and try to have the date of the game changed to 20 march instead.

what do u all prefer? singles or play-another-day?

i used to categorize myself as high beginner. but ever since my lay-off for one year, i think im down to mid-beginner

sadly, unable to do that. i pestered the staff over at the town council for a really long time, asking her to help me check the slots available on just about every day of the month. the remaining slots available as at 1 march were 7, 14 and 20 march. even now, im not really confident of securing slots on 20 march anymore.

and anyone, please bring along some used shuttles for stroking if u can, if u are unable to get nice new shuttles for our games.

oh and another question. what do most of u all here think about playing twice a week rather than weekly? too tiring? just right? too little? if things pick up, i may try to book courts for more days from april onwards

i think twice a week is fine, but we may need to find more ppl cos its gonna be hard that we can always find ppl whos time coincides.

i have some shuttles with me, can bring them along during the next game

i don't mind twice a week too. since i am holding a part-time job, my schedule is flexible.

as for the shuttles, i haven't buy them yet! mayb you guys recommend me some brands/model?

and it's still some days before friday, who knows someone might just pop up and bring along his friends. relax man. (:

btw, you guys go around bedok searching courts or thru web or something? i hope i can contribute to the court bookings too.

heres another update

the town council has kinda fully booked its own courts for some events from 19 march - 7 april. simply put, i wont be able to get any courts within this period of time, unless the counter staff was having me on.

seems wherever i go to try get courts, the organization itself is the main cause of this problem. maybe those who can do bookings online can try to get courts elsewhere for those few weeks. ill try to snatch the courts once they are available again

ok ill try to go down sometime to get the second court for both days if can fork out some time. otherwise we can have up to 8 players coming still, i guess. just have to sacrifice myself and try to tire everyone out

in case anyone hasnt been to these courts before... its quite nice. parquet flooring and ceiling not very high but high enough at least for me. no walls or fans close to the courts and really quite spacious enough to sit around and watch a few games while resting

chrislyn managed to get some rsl shuttles, maybe ill try to get them from her for the time being. i dont know much about shuttles but many seem to like protech pt-10. only complaint is that its expensive. ive only got 1 tube of protech pt premium left now, not sure how fast u guys will destroy shuttles.

and u are right. came to check and expected to find no one having put their names down yet. its a nice surprise

some courts are available for booking online, others arent. i can only try for those which require booking in person. maybe u can help to try book courts online
