my true idol...he can dive to save smash from opponent
two time in a row.....after dive left to retrieve shuttle,
he can dive to right side in time to retrieve again...
after him, LCW have his spirits...
but Hafiz...too bad...
after losing so much tournament, he blame the salary not enough...
as for Kok Keong, his spirit also same when he drive on the road
many years ago, my uncle not intentionally overtake a car..
the driver catch up and chase my uncle's car all the way, few kilometres
just for the sake of overtaking my uncle again
when the driver overtake, he saw FKK is the driver...
hahaha....

Of course we remember Foo Kok Keong. There is another thread entitled FOO KOK KEONG DIVES.
Foo Kok Keong, VI boy like Misbun, Jailani, Razif and Rashid Sidek. When he 1st broke into the scene, he was always ppaly second fiddle to Misbun, never beaten Misbun in local championship.
I cant really remember when he started playing 1st team for Malaysia, it should be end 1986 and 1987.
Foo was known to be a fighter who would never let the shuttle fall on his court. His stamina and mental strength was phenomenal.
Individually, he did not win many titles but all the champions of his generation dread to play against him especially Zhao Jian Hua who had never beaten Foo Kok keong in their 3 encounters in 1989,1990 and 1991.
He was the 1st to employ the "dive" to the sideline to retrieve the shuttle and he train very hard to be able to execute such a feat that are standard repetoire of the MS champions these days as we see in Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei.
In the 1989 SEA games team final against Eddy Kurniawan of Indonesia, he played a gruelling 3 setter which he won. After he shook hands with Eddy, he went to the back of the advert board to vomit.
Another incident was in a MS final sometime in 1991, a game he played against Ardy Wiranata. Ardy won in 3 sets and both of them left a trail of their partially digested meals on the side of court.
When FKK was fixated with the shuttle, his matches typically last 2 hours. In one tournament after the quaterfinals which he won, IBF officials came to take his urine samples. Next day in the Semi final, another 2 hour 3 setter was played, which he lost, the IBF officials again took his urine samples to make sure he was not pharmaceutically powered.
His best remembered match was against Alan Budi Kusuma in the Thomas Cup final 1992. Alan Lost the 1st set and was leading 10-7 trying to force the rubber but when you see FKK huffing and grasping for air, body bent forwards you know your in trouble because when FKK is tired he doubles up on his mental strength he before long he was levelled at 10-10. and then neck and neck to 12-12 before Alan was pumped out.

FKK is like the bull terrier who if you let it get a hold of your pant leg, will never let go no matter how much you try to shake him off. That's the FKK I know.
