    Hey guys,

I'm hoping someone would be kind enough to share a few places that offer free or relatively cheap badminton sessions throughout the week.

    Thanks a bunch

i couldn't find any free places but I did find a few places that run for $2.50 within Toronto. The 2 places I go to are Mitchell Field CC and Toronto Memorial. They're usually full so there's not as much play time as the other CCs.

Here are a few links to help you find a place closer to you:

    Good luck

Thanks for that. The Markham one looks the best. Maybe I'll check it out tomorrow. :)

I don't mind paying a small fee (up to 5 dollars) to play badminton. I just hate that most places make you pay for an entire season. At this point in time, there's no way I can play often enough to get my money's worth. Drop ins FTW.

Has anyone tried the drop-in from 7-9pm on Sunday? The city of Vaughn pdf doesn't list any drop-in fee. Do you need to be a member of the community centre to join? Me and my g/f are looking for somewhere near Richmond Hill to play on the weekends. Not really looking at joining a serious club though with dress code, etc. If anyone has tried it, info re: how early to show up would be appreciated. Thanks! :D

If you're talking about the one running at Dufferin CC, drop-in fee is $4.50. Thornhill CC(John/Bayview) also runs on Sunday between 8-10pm and it's $4.

Here's a list of the places that may also be convenient for you.
Mon - Thornhill CC 9-11, Thornlea SS 7-10
    Tues- Thornhill CC 8:30-10:30
    Fri - Brebeuf College(211 Steeles Ave) 8-10, Westminster PS(366 Mullen Dr) 6-10

Are you sure Brebeuf College has it on Friday Nights? Do you know who is running it on Fridays?

yea it's been running for a while. There's a coach that teaches a few beginners on a few nets and theres are a few nets open for drop-ins. Ask for Mei.

We went to the 7-9 one at Dufferin Clarke, according to the city of Vaughn rec schedule, but either we were in the wrong place or it wasn't running. Just basketball there and no one we talked to knew of badminton. We ended up going to Thornhill from 8-10. Might give the Brebeuf or Rosemount one a try tonight.

They told me they double booked a basketball tourney that one time I went to DCC but I guess they canceled the entire program.

If you intend on going to Brebeuf tonight, I suggest you bring a couple to play with as you won't find anyone to play against there besides the beginners taking lessons.

We'll be at Rosemount tonight. Maybe we'll see you there.

apparently the places were closed on Friday due to March break. It's most likely that next week will also be canceled.

probably good to bump this as some may be looking for places to drop-in for the summer.
