MALAYSIA feel that their men's doubles pairs – Choong Tan Fook-Lee Wan Wah, Chan Chong Ming-Koo Kien Keat and Mohd Fairuzizuan Tazari-Lin Woon Fui – stand a chance to win the world title.

But veteran Dane Jens Eriksen says “no way”. The 36-year-old Eriksen, who is searching for his first world title together with Martin Lungaard Hansen, sees only two pairs who are up to the mark to claim the title.

“I feel that Martin and I stand a very good chance to go all the way. Age is not a factor and we believe that we are in top condition at the moment,” said Eriksen.

“I only see the top seeds, Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng (of China), as the pair who are capable of stopping us from winning our first world title.”

He added that similar to the Malaysians, the Indonesian pairs were also not good enough to win the title.

The Indonesian pairs in the fray are Hong Kong Open champions Markis Kido-Hendra Setiawan and Luluk Hadiyanto-Alven Yulianto.

Eriksen's and Hansen's hopes of clinching their first world title are also boosted by the latter's recovery from a recent knee injury.

“Martin has recovered fully and he is no longer bothered by injury. He has been testing the knee in training and it is holding up well,” said Eriksen.

The Danes, who won the All-England and European Championships titles this year, are the third-fourth seeds and they are drawn to play against Chong Ming-Kien Keat in the quarter-finals. The Chinese top seeds are in the same half of the draw.

I think ANTI CHINA would be a bad description. If i were you i would probably say "you don't like China players". Anyway HuangkwokHau is not such person.
All of us are badminton fans.. when we say we dont like certain players.. either from Malaysia,China or Indonesia.. we are jealous that they are winning all the titles. But we are not saying that the players are bad in playing. Even in Soccer.. there are Hard Core Manchester United fans vs Arsenal fans so goes to Liverpool and Chelsea fans.

    Dont take it seriously alright?

As INA fans, of course me, Hau-Ge, Krisna and others would want INA players to win. We are of course delighted if the main opponents from China, Denmark, Korea, and Malaysia are beaten

oh yeah, yang yang rocks!!!! the current crop of players i like the doubles men team of FHF and CY. but if they come up against malaysian players i still support malaysian players. if they were against somebody else i will support them. most BC members here know that chinese players are skilled but who we support are usually based on many things, country of origin being one of them, style of play being another and many other aspects. i like taufik's
style of play but when he goes against LCW i support LCW. other times i support taufik. so really, most BC members dont HATE other players or ANTI certain country, they just dont support them.

Never mind ALL-ENGLAND Promises to be HOT, this thread is already plenty heated! I never understand why people make such blatantly provocative comments. Is it to get them some attention? Is it because they are unable to express themselves in a more tactful manner? Whatever the case, some people need to harbour less hatred/anger in their heart.
