Badminton requires fitness, and so as many other sports. It a player lose a match due to fittness, s/he should train harder afterward, as his/her opponent facing the same situation, but lasted longer. If a player feels sick or unformtable due to sickness, injuries or fitness, s/he should be the one make the decision whether to push or take a break or even withdraw from the match.

Many sports could be even more dangerous due to body contact. Every year, we see a load of football (American style) and hocky players or even basketball players got rushed to hospital due to injuries related to physical contact. However, the game continues, and so as 99.999% of the rules.
