Yup, hitting against the wall will work if you're training by yourself.
I've been practising drives and short serves against the wall, and I have improved quite a lot. Except.. I have small holes on the wall now
Playing alot is good, but the most important thing is to enjoy this sport and have the will to improve

Play more, find a friend to train with you, or play against a wall if you're by yourself! If that doesn't work, get training
One tip for seeing a faster smash is to stand a little back and duck down below the net with your racquet ready to just try and tap the smashes that you couldn't even see before :PLast edited by Optiblue; 02-09-2008 at 10:43 PM.

Do you want to get better at double or singles? They require different skill sets.
What some videos on youtube. Both tournament play and also instructional series.
FOOTWORK is so important. Watch the steps they take and HOW FAST THE RECOVER! You almost have to simultaneously hit the shuttle and start you recovery at the same time.

Instead of playing more, the fastest way to improve is to find a coach and do proper training/practice. No amount of play is gonna help if your grip/strokes are incorrect in the first place. (IMO, 3-4 mths of training > Few years of playing).
With proper training:
(1) you will no longer need to move/play as fast as you used to, constantly throughout the game.
(2) your clears are deeper, your positioning is better, you are more relaxed => you can take a smash better
(3) you will enjoy the game more!
