Arrow New racket for begginner (net hugger)

    Hi,
My friend is just returning back to badminton after 20+ years of rest.

She seems like she knows her basic shots, just need to work on footwork. She can handle my Cab30ms with BG80 at 25# fairly well playing near the net.

She did not like my AT900T with NBG98 at 25# nor my friend's AT300 with BG80 at 25#. Too stiff by her description.

Do you think a medium flex balanced racket might fit her e.g. Yonex 8600Ti, mp21, AT150 ?

I would like to see if I can get her a decent racket around $60. She said she is more of a control player with shot placement versus power smashes.

    1. How often do you play, how serious are you? three times a month or so

    2. What style of player are you? (Aggressive smasher, net player ...)
    Net player

    3. Do you care much about durability or is it all about performance?
    performance

    4. How much money do you want to spend?
    no more than $60 US

One more thing: If i use BG65 what tension would be good for this person ?

    Thanks.

she is pretty much planted by the net (no further back from the service front line) and cannot really move forward & backward too fast.

i suggest she go for thinner strings
she should give mp66, NS6000, at150 a try but it cost more.

Since it's quiet at the forum. Maybe I will give my non-expert opinion.

    (1) I don't know about Yonex 8600Ti, mp21, AT150. I only use AT 900 P, and 800 OF for backup.
    (2) For female beginners' rackets, there have been many threads, so maybe take a look and make your pick.
    (3) If she likes your racket, let her play for awhile, and have her try more rackets from other players (<$60) until she finds something she likes.
    (4) If I were her, I'd go with a light one (4u, no less than 3u), balanced, and medium flex, 23 bl on BG 65, since she needs maneuverability and control most, not packing of power.
    (5) For beginners, personally I don't think rackets will make too much difference as long as she likes the feel of the racket. The most important thing is to let them have fun and enjoy the game and exercise.

Arc Saber 7! Enough said lol!!

Or you could wait for those lower model Arc Sabers to come out which could fit the bill!

    1) no AT for net hugger. Head heavy will slow down net hugging.
    2) If she can handle Cab30ms, any current cab or NS line will do.
    3) MP21 or Cab8600 are fine with flexible shaft.
    4) $60 budget, does it have to be YY? Depend, is she is old school, go with Cab8600, if she likes ISO, MP21.
