    Men's Singles:
    Andre Kurniawan Tedjono [8]
R64 vs vs Alexandre Paixiao -- an easy opener.
R32 vs either Alamsyah Yunus or Vladislav Druchenko -- a tougher test, but, Andre should beat either player.
R16 vs possibly Sho Sasaki -- a tough one here for a place in the last 8.
QF vs possibly Park Sung Hwan [1] -- if Andre can progress to the QF, it's unlikely he will beat the top seed.

    Tommy Sugiarto
R64 vs Scott Evans -- an easy one too.
R32 vs Kendrick Lee Yen Hui [5] -- given Kendrick's current form, Tommy is unlikely to beat him.

    Alamsyah Yunus
R64 vs Vladislav Druchenko -- a tough opener.
R32 vs Andre Kurniawan Tedjono [8] -- see above.

    Women's Singles:
    Maria Kristin Yulianti
R32 vs Maja Tvrdy -- should be an easy one here.
R16 vs Eriko Hirose [3] or Judith Meulendijks -- tough to progress beyond R16.

    Fransisca Ratnasari
Qualifying R1 vs Simone Prutsch -- expected to beat the Austrian player.
Qualifying R2 vs possibly Telma Santos -- ditto, expected to progress to the main draw.
R32 vs Wang Yihan -- progress will be stopped here.

    Men's Doubles:
    Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki
R32 vs Tadashi Ohtsuka/Keita Masuda [4] -- an unlucky tough first match...they have lost to the Japanese pair in the Russian Open SF
R16 vs vs possibly Vitalij Durkin/Alexander Nikolaenko -- if only Rian/Yoke can negotiate the tough first tie.

    Fran Kurniawan/Rendra Wijaya
R32 vs Johannes Schoettler/Tim Dettmann -- manageable tie, should progress
R16 vs either Fang Chieh-Min/Lee Sheng-Mu or Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen -- unlikely to progress further

    Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan
R32 vs Shuichi Sakamoko/Shintaro Ikeda [6] -- also a nightmare draw...against the World Championships Bronze Medallist  It will be a miracle if Bona/Ahsan can progress.

    Women's Doubles:
    Rani Mundiasti/Endang Nursugianti [8]
    R32 vs Magee Chloe/Huang Bing -- a breeze
R16 vs Marie Roepke/Helle Nielsen or Q2 -- tricky but manageable. A QF placing is expected of Rani/Endang here.
QF vs possibly Satoko Suetsuna/Miyuki Maeda -- another Japanese hurdle to overcome.

    Jo Novita/Greysia Polii
R32 vs Johanna Persson/Elin Berglom -- should be manageable, but this Swedish pair nearly upsetted Vita/Butet in the Korea Open.
R16 vs possibly Aki Akao/Tomomi Matsuda -- as always, the Japanese pair will be a tough one to beat. I hope Jo/Grace can progress to QF too.
QF vs possibly Lee Kyung Won/Lee Hyo Jung -- it will mean a significant progress if Jo/Grace are to reach the SF.

    Nitya Krishinda/Lita Nurlita
    R32 vs Joanne Nicholas/Natalie Munt -- a tough opener for Nitya/Lita.
R16 vs possibly Jiang Yanmei/Li Yujia [3] -- tough to progress beyond R16.

    Nathalia Poluakan/Yulianti
Qualifying R2 vs possibly Sarah Bok/Imogen Bankier -- Lia/Yuli are expected to progress to the main draw.
R32 vs Marie Roepke/Helle Nielsen -- if they can beat this Danish pair, they are expected to face their senior for a place in the last 8.

    Mixed Doubles:
    Devin Lahardi/Lita Nurlita [7]
    R32 vs Rasmus Bonde/Christina Pedersen -- a manageable tie for Devin/Lita.
R16 vs possibly Xu Chen/Zhao Tingting -- unlucky to draw the Chinese pair so early, a credible test of Devin/Lita's credential.

    Mohd Rijal/Greysia Polii
R32 vs Hendra Kurniawan Saputra/Li Yujia [5] -- a tough first match for Rijal/Grace, I hope they can beat the Singaporean pair.

    Tantowi Ahmad/Yulianti
R32 vs Kristian Roebuck/Jenny Wallwork -- a tricky tie, let's see if Towi/Yuli can progress.

yeah, scotty boy is a good lad, i think he'll make it tough, but i doubt he'll beat tommy.

here are my predictions for the QF:

    PSH vs Andre
    LTS vs SSM
    Gong vs Minh
    Roslin vs LHI

no matter how you look at it, unless injury comes into play, i can't see anything other than an all KOR MS final.

also, in the MD, i can see KOR winning here again, the only pairs i can forsee troubling them are Guo/Xie and Morgensen/Boe.

From the draw, all of Msia's senior/elit squad arent going for German Open, they're going for 3-day team building camp aft Thomas Cup qualifiers.

Only club players from Nusa & KLRC are going + 1 back-up XD.

Just quick look at the draw, seems bright chance that KOR will pick 2 titles or maybe more with their full team attendance. And INA comes to this tournament with modest target, gain some experience for the young guns and Olympic qualifying points for WD players (Jo/Gresyia and Rani/Endang, hopefully Jo/Gres will get good result here).

INA WILL NOT win a title here (as always) due to the strong line-ups in MD and XD. Completely agree that those in need of ranking pts (Maria Kristin, Rani/Endang, Jo/Greysia) need to enter at least the QF.

If Maria doesn't show too much respect to bouncy Hirose or Judith, she can create a surprise. But Maria must have self belief.

Agree, unless there's a major upset, Park Sung Hwan is likely to meet Lee Hyun Il for the title.

I agree completely with what badMania wrote in this thread... although I hope INA players will do better than what is predicted, but realistically, badMania is correct.

If Rian-Yoke can defeat the Japanese, they may very well go to the semifinals... If not, then... they have to wait another week to play in the All England and play: Cai-Fu! Ouch...
