It's gonna be a breeze for most seeded teams, with only 1 interesting tie in the Men's Team (Group B) encounter between Singapore and Vietnam.

    Predictions:
    Men's Team
    Japan bt Pakistan
    Singapore bt Vietnam
    Hong Kong bt Sri Lanka
    Thailand bt Macau

    Women's Team
    Japan bt Sri Lanka
    Chinese-Taipei bt Vietnam
    Korea bt Cambodia

looks like it's all going to be 5-0 encounters.

the women's event is definitely going to be more interesting than the men's, for me.

It is tough for HK women to qualify without Zhou Mi...especiall against Taiwan...can be 3-2 for Taiwan.....

Only the SIN-VIE tie can throw some unpreditability. A lot depends on the first singles match.

Really? Very good news as this may be the first time RTM is showing live for Thomas/Uber qualifiers. Or is it daily highlights?

The matches between SIN and VIE were close as expected.
Kendrick Lee just managed to beat Nguyen Tien-Minh 22-20, 21-19.
Derek Wong also just beat Nguyen Quang-Minh 23-21, 21-18.

Strangely, Hendri Kurniawan Saputra was not playing...instead Kendrick Lee was also playing in the doubles, partnering Hendra Wijaya to beat Nguyen Hoang-Hai/Nguyen Huy-Giang 21-15, 24-22.

VIE gave a tough fight to SIN. 3 of the 4 matches (don't know what happened to the MD2 match) were pretty close, but SIN did not drop a single set.

With Kendrick, Ashton and Derek spearheading the singles section, it's a truly Singaporean victory.
