    Men's Team:
Malaysia vs Thailand -- it could be 3-0 to Malaysia. Boonsak simply never gets it right against Lee Chong Wei.

Japan vs Korea -- Korea to win 3-0 too.

    Women's Team:
Hong Kong vs Korea -- a fight to the end...as the first two singles for Hong Kong are slightly stronger than the Korean's. However, Lee Kyung Won/Lee Hyo Jung and Ha Jung Eun/Kim Min Jung will even it for Korea. The key will be the third singles, in which Korea is absolutely the favorite.

Japan vs Malaysia -- Japan's second, third singles, and second doubles are experienced enough to see them through. Japan to wrap it up 3-1 or 3-2.

They have all qualified for the Cup Finals. So, these matches are inconsequential (I think) except for pride.

The outcome here will also affect the seedings during the finals. So, I think the teams will still slog it out, besides the players have to earn rankings points for OLY'08... let's all enjoy a good showing.

Assuming the strongest squads are fielded.

    Men's

    MAS v THA
MAS could finish it 3-0, or at the very least, the MD2 pair should clinch the winning point with 3-1.

    KOR v JPN
Sato could give Park a run for his money. No sweat for LHI. KOR doubles also superior. KOR cannot let the tie go down to MS3 where Tago awaits Shon, but I think no sweat for KOR.

    Women's

    JPN v MAS
WMC v Eriko and Julia v Kaori are 50-50 matches. But the other matches strongly favour the Japanese. Only Chin/Wong has some glimmer of a chance. Odds heavily stacked against MAS.

    KOR v HKG
Wang Chen should win over Jun. Hwang v Yippy is 50-50. Both doubles points belong to KOR. But should it go to WS3, KOR will take it.

Seedings for Thomas and Uber Cup finals are usually not that important. And we more and less know how the seeding will go anyway.

Ranking points have already been earned. You only have to play one match in the whole tournament to get the ranking points, win or lose.

Unfortunately, it seems that Thailand Thomas Cup squad has thrown in the towel, now that they too have qualified. Even fielded the huge Tesana in 3rd singles.

Reminds me of INA vs CHN Thomas Cup Group tie in 1992, a match none of them wanted to win, 'cos that would mean playing Malaysia in semis.
