Hey guys, i have been playing on musclepower 29lt for awhile now and the string is turning loose.

I am going to change it, the old string was pre-string bg-65. As for the tension i have rather forgotten about it since it was done quite some time ago.

Does anyone has any recommended strings and the amount of tension to it? My play style is offensive/smash.

    i have read them actually.

i have in mind already what i want, but i wanted to get some opinion before doing anything.

i planned on BG80 23lbs, but i was hoping for some other suggestions.

80 @ 23 lbs is a safe approach. Unless you have very specified need, this is a good choice for the 1st try. ;)

    yeah, i agree.
bg80 is a generally a good string for most players, and 22-24lbs is a safe bet as well.

my suggestion is, absolutely go with bg80 at 23lbs, write it down somewhere so that the next time you restring you know exactly what it was strung at before and you'll be better able to judge whether you want to change it the next time your racquet needs a restring.

lost a bit of feel for control shots sifuyono? i worry a bit then because i am mainly a player who likes drop shots. and i am trying to improve my net shots which require a good feel of the racket. hmmm....but it is worth trying. experiment, experiment, experiment... thank sifuyono for the feedback. :)

hehehehe, i kinda have to agree. my shoulders and wrist are sore just playing with ashaway MP at 25/27.5. the clears are good and the touches are ok but after a while the strain on the shoulders and wrist are getting to me. hehehehe. i better go back to lower tension for a while. at least until i have an arm that can handle high tension. :D

    k guys i am back!

i went to the shop, bg80 was outta stock. oh man.

so i restring it with bg85 @ 23lbs(the shopowner said it was quite like bg80)

went to play for 2hours, first game was trying to adapt to it, i thought it would be hard. but after playing a few shots, i guess net play and smashes can be controlled easily. the sound was nice too, compared with the previous string(bg65) factory-string on it. smash power was definitely better, it sounds nicer too.

before posting this, i read about bg85 durability issues, will i have to change it often?

The main draw back regarding BG85 is indeed the durability. Even though, BG80 is only 0.01mm thicker, but the life span is noticable longer, for most players.

With my own experience, if for same tension, BG80 lasts about 2 times longer than BG85 for me, under 23lb of tension.

yup, bg80 does last much longer, considering it's only 0.01mm thicker. strange that, but i wouldn't say it lasts 2 times longer for me, maybe 1.3 - 1.5 times.

How often is often? Not as frequent as you change your underware...

If you are not using plastic shuttle and you are a control player, the string will last you 6 month or more. If you are a offensive player, time to get a new racquet.

bad drifit..... bad drifit.....:mad::mad: no change underwear???
frequent change string is a good thing. one can have the good feel of the string. 6 months, tension drop.... gripping drop... back to square, feel like hitting with the factory pre-string.
