OK, when I do the pre-string normally, I loop one of the mains around the butt of the racket right? Well, that's not enough string for this new machine because the gripper is too far away. I know a few that do two loops but that doesn't leave enough string to pre-string the last 5 or so cross strings.

Now I know a few more that do two equidistant loops that are longer but the loops are not taut and it makes pre-weaving the crosses very difficult. So what they do is tie the two loops around the shaft. It works for them but for me, I worry about damaging the string.

Make sense now?

I was thinking of different knots..my bad...

For me, I juts cut 5,5-6 armlength and it works perfectly.. Two loops around the butt-end and finished..
I have no idea how long that is though

Expert stringer? meh... I think I know how it works, but expert is a big word

.. But stringing isn't rocket science

okay, I span 190cm, so I use ~10,5m... Not as bad as I thought..

Don't know about the Eagnas machines but the Wise is definitely a true constant pull.

For me, I use 6 wingspan lengths (your "arm lengths") and it's spot on. Another way is to use 14 racket lengths. However, that's not the point or problem. The problem is, if you use two loops, there will be too much excess string on the first tie-off. Also, you should not have enough string to pre-weave all the crosses until you start the crosses. And if you do have enough string, you are going over 33' and wasting string.

Anyway, I bet a few pictures would be worth a thousand words.

yeah, I tried to take a pic... but my computer crashed when I plugged in the webcam :|
darn free-webcam.. everybody I know who got one has the same blue-screen-of-death issue...

anyway, I do indeed waste some string, I guess on the first tie off (the 'short' side mains) i throw away one of two feet of string...

But that roughly translates itself into ~1dollar per string job...
well worth it not having to plow through those nasty holes at bottom #12, #10, or that pesky #11 which is always blocked by a string...

I did try the eagnas Plus-8000 the latest model. their precision is ±3 lb. May be aceptable for tennis. But bad for badminton.

I was going to do it a few days ago but can you believe it? The tripod mount on my camera broke so I cannot mount the camera.

So, I need to fix that first.
