Yes, my fren, nothing is impossible ... provided our shuttlers work hard for it, have the right mentality and be focused. Having said that, I am not too sure about the mentality and the being focused part when it comes to our Malaysian shuttlers.
Yes, yes, yes LCW won the IO. But put him side by side with LD, you will see a big difference. Am not taking LCW's win at the IO away, but LCW have never been able to handle the big tournaments. Mentally he is a weakling.
As for Kido/Setiawan and Lee/Jung, look at them, even after bagging the WC and AE respectively, there are no airs about them. They are grounded and you dont see them showboating on court or etc. While for our KKK/TBH it is totally the opposite.
In the ABC, the way Lee/Jung took apart KKK/TBH was remarkable. Mentally they are very tough. Once the match went into rubber set, KKK/TBH just couldnt keep up with the Koreans. Malaysians are no match when it comes to mentality with the Koreans. To them reprsenting their country is something money cant buy. They will fight you all the way. Our Malaysia Boleh chest thumping is nothing but empty rhetorics when we compare ourselves against the Koreans. Not suprising to see Korean companies like Samsung being a global player while our Proton/Mas is still trying to stay afloat, for example. Sporting wise, in badminton they have a couple of gold medals while we have nothing.
Lastly, if we cant win anything in the ABC when playing at home, how can we la win playing away in Beijing??
.... of course nothing is impossible = just like our Malaysian astronaut program

I think LCW is reserving his best to prove Pemuda wrong. I can see that he is tuning up well even though he did not show his best in the ABC. It was a good move to relax in the ABC, which I see as a warming up tournament for the Thomas Cup.
With a strong performance in the Thomas Cup, LCW will be able to come peaking in the Olympics. Just watch the space Pemuda -- make sure your jaws don't drop too much when it happens. Yes, yes, Malaysia Boleh.

If LCW take that gold in Beijing, I will be happy as a Malaysian. Infact, I will gladly eat humble pie and I have no problems shaving my head totally bald and run one round my neighbourhood in my underwear. And I will change my nick here from Pemuda to 'Xball-myhero'.

I know LCW and our Malaysian mentality. That gold is just a dream.

And..... I wasnt talking about LCW, since this thread is abt the "youngies" MD

. He he, it's to prove to the 80% & all the sporting authorities, just depends if they can hack it during OG. That would make the games very, very interesting.
I wonder how jaws dropped in 2004 when the Korean XD, the hot favourities, didnt win gold, or rather even didnt get into semi finals.Last edited by eaglehelang; 04-24-2008 at 07:15 AM.
