SGVBC has added 4 going on 5 new courts!

In addition, it's adding a full service drink facility as well as a much larger pro shop and four Yonex competition mats to four designated courts.

Also, it's changing all its lights to a higher color temperature with more luminance which results in higher CRI (Color Rendering Index).

For you scientifically saavy out there, based on the lighting of the four new courts, I estimate the new lights are about 4,200K, CRI of about 70-75. In comparison, the current old light color temperature is about 3,000K and its CRI at 55-60. Assuming the brightness of the old courts is 5,000 lumens per light, the new ones are about 12,000 lumens...a bit too bright if you ask me. :p SGVBC plans to drop the lumens down to 8,000 and the CRI should increase to around 80-85. Again, these are all estimates.

Regardless of the lighting, it's a win-win situation and SGVBC will have a total of 18 courts, a new pro shop and four lucky courts will be easier on panda's feet. :D

    I've heard & seen..

(thanks Dan for the tidbit of infos)..
..their remodeling work, the last time i was there during the recent Winter Classic @ SGVBC. When i talked to another club member, the new additional space seems to not have as high a ceiling as the current space/courts.
Now, it looks like SGVBC is on par with ABC in terms of the no. of available courts. Should be interesting to see how the new improvements look..

Don't worry, they will modify the new courts to have better contrast.

They also just put in a Yonex Mat on center court. It's so nice to play on! :D

Panda open fortune cookie and fortune cookie say:

"Win or lose or even butt kicking no matter. Most important to have fun." :)

Panda always gets whipped but Panda still have lots of fun. When the SGVBCers come back from a tournament and didn't win and/or are not in a good mood, they challenge Panda. Once they whip Panda, they feel better.

So, I'm the unofficial SGVBC whipping boy...errrr...Panda. :p

    *Fades to commercial*

"Lose a tough match? Still having trouble figuring out a way to beat Tony and Candra? Or does life just have you down? No worries, now you can challenge Panda! After you win, life will be peachy once again!!!" :D:D:D

"We now return to our regularly schedule program."
