Yesterday afternoon I dropped by the School of Physical Education (SPE) sports hall at Bukit Timah to catch some of the action. Schools like Maris Stella, ACS, Xinmin and Monfort fielded a number of foreign students from Thailand, China and Indonesia.

The last match of the day was between Masahiro Tan (ACS Independent) and Nattapol Limpanawut (Monfort) playing in the U16 Boy Singles. Nattapol from Thailand lost the first game but fought back to win the match.

Its Quarterfinals this morning followed by Semifinals tomorrow.

The Finals will be held next Wednesday 19 March at Toa Payoh Sports Hall 1300hrs onwards.

Not sure of exact timing. the singles players are supposed to report to the organisers by 0815hrs and the doubles players 1015hrs according to the spreadsheet in this link:
    http://www.schoolsports.sg/sssc/badminton/fixtures

I was surprised to see notices which stated that only players and coaches were allowed access to the 1st floor where the courts are located. Spectators and supporters are not allowed to sit by the courtside and had to vew the matches from the 2nd floor "Holding Area" where the players wait for their turn to play.

Ahh, I went to the last 16 and lost to my normal doubles partner and his China partner from Boon Lay. Oh well, wasn't that bad. At least we fought! 21-15, 21-15
