Dear Kwun and Admin, I am puzzled by the removal of my posts in buy and sell forum. Several of my posts of for sale was deleted. I know these are new racquets and items. I sell these at discount and/or cost for benefit of BCBF members. I have no problem you delete my post if you feel my post violate any buy and sell forum rule. However, I feel that it would be nice if the Admin who delete my post can PM me (or future poster) why it was deleted so we violators will know not to do it again in the future. May be give the person a chance to explain and change some of the wordings so the post can stay. Thank you all and have a nice week. SH
Kwun and admin are different person???? did you pm kwun and other mods regarding this matter? no reply from them?
No, I have not PM Kwun, admin or the other mods yet regarding my last deleted post. However, I did bring up my concern on other prior post and explain my position on this before and they were OK with it. So, I do not know what is the problem this time and that is why I am suggesting Kwun and other Mods give us a notice or headup before they delete a post so we can explain the situation.
Sending a PM is the official policy on this, but if you have been PM'd before about the same thing, it is safe to assume this is the case.
No, I PM'd to inquire my deleted buy/sell post before and never got an answer back. That is why I would like to suggest in case of the post get deleted in the future, should/can Mods send a PM to let user know why the post got deleted?
That is what I meant. If a post is deleted generally the Mods PM the user and warn them on future conduct. I confess I do not really know the situation in this case however.
1) I thank you for confirming there is a "general" practice on PMing users about post getting deleted. 2) My issue has been, this is not the first time. And 2x I inquire about it before, I never get an answer. 3) I just feel that I do not have to state my purpose of selling these "new", "near new" equipments is to save members money, not for my own purpose. 4) In any case, I will not be able to sell these "new" items too much longer due to some stupid reasons. So there will be no issue for me after March. However, I just want to have a clear answer over the general rule and practice over the this issue. I thank you very much for your clarification.
I understand your frustration in this situation, But I say we cannot and will not distinguish between people who are genuinely trying to help the Badminton community and who are trying to make money from them. It is no accusation of your intentions or integrity, only a general policy whcih is indistinguishable andd therfore a blanket removal policy must be the only course of action. BF is primarily a discussion forum, and the Market place has become a useful ancilliary part of it in the most part, however it has also added complications. I apologise on behalf of BF for the lack of response, but Kwun etc.. all have demanding full time jobs and families and it is inevitable that some queries "slip the net"
I think is better "they" allow us to delete our own posting. This is just a forum, not our job assignment that needs to think many-many times before we do it . just suggestion
That'd Be Fun. Or Would It? Except for announcements, a thread is a conversation between many. It is neither a dialogue between two persons nor a monologue. Each post is a response that makes sense of the conversation. Else, it'd be like listening to one end of a telephone conversation. This is also what makes moderating any discussion quite difficult. The undesirable has to be removed without breaking the sequence. Ah, that's not very easy! If posts were deleted on an afterthought, it'd render many a discussion opaque and its content unintelligible to most. Imagine a movie where one actor in a group scene mutes just his lines after all of them have been spoken. It's unlikely that anyone here particularly cares for your last line, NisroL_JR You are exceedingly right about Badminton Central being a forum. But what is of immense relevance here is that this is a public forum. And that makes comment not just sacred but available and reviewable. (If you didn't know, every comment is forever lockered by search engines) You are requested to "think many many times" before you post here
This has been discussed before here: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22456&highlight=editing+posts
