A live broadcast of the draw will be conducted at the Trans TV studio on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 1500 hours local time. Trans TV is the host broadcaster for the championships.
Really weird, there's no LIVE broadcast of TUC 2008 Final Drawing in TransTV today's program. Check this website : www.transtv.co.id

oh no...Malaysia had drawn in group b with south korea and england in the thomas cup..!!! its very tough men!! if compared to china and indonesia...
I just heard from the organizers: A1 will wait for C3 vs. D2 B1 will wait for C2 vs. D3 the winner will face each other to go to the finals C1 will wait for A2 vs. B3 D1 will wait for A3 vs. B2 the winner will face each other to go to the finals This applies for both Thomas and Uber. Note: A1 = 1st place finish in group A A2 = 2nd place finish in group A A3 = 3rd place finish in group A
Possible Draws Thomas Cup 1st half China vs Winner between New Zealand vs Thailand Malaysia vs Winner between Japan vs Germany 2nd Half Denmark vs Winner between Canada vs England Indonesia vs Winner between South Korea or Nigeria Uber Cup 1st Half China vs Winner between NewZealand vs Indonesia South Korea vs Winner between Denmark vs Netherlands 2nd Half Malaysia vs Winner between Germany vs South Africa Japan vs Winner between Hong Kong vs USA
CHN cannot get an easier road to the semifinals than this... Lucky them... On the other hand, South Korea cannot get a harder road to the semifinals than this... Yup... if I were the INA team manager, I would try to avoid China... either by winning the group [unlikely] or loosing all the group contest and become number 3 in group D [very do-able yet very embarrasing... ha ha ha]...
Potential Group Winners and Runners-Up: THOMAS CUP Group A China (1) -- no question Canada -- madbad will be relieved that Canada will surely thrash lowly Nigeria Group B -- GROUP OF DEATH Malaysia (3) South Korea -- Korea will be involved in a dog-fight for top spot with MAS, like INA last time in 2006 (which INA won) Group C Denmark (4) -- I don't see Denmark losing out to Japan Japan Group D Indonesia (2) -- should be a comfortable ride for INA, but, Thailand's first single (Boonsak Ponsana) and double (Sudket Prapakamol/Phattapol Ngensrisuk) might pose a slight problem Thailand Potential Play-Offs Matches C3 (New Zealand) vs D2 (Thailand) -- surely Thailand to nick this one! C2 (Japan) vs D3 (Germany) -- Japan to qualify for QF! A2 (Canada) vs B3 (England) -- England to win! A3 (Nigeria) vs B2 (Malaysia or Korea) -- surely...Malaysia or Korea....no doubt! Potential QF Matches: A1 (China) vs C3/D2 (Thailand) -- China to stroll to SF B1 (Malaysia or Korea) vs C2/D3 (Japan) -- the doubles will be interesting, while the singles will be competitive as well. Either Malaysia or Korea has an edge. C1 (Denmark) vs A2/B3 (England) -- surely, another stroll for Denmark! D1 (Indonesia) vs A3/B2 (Malaysia or Korea) -- WOW...tough tough tough....INA still need to face either MAS or Korea....sigh....
Not necessarily. If Malaysia can beat Korea in the Group Phase, they are almost guaranteed a spot in the SF, against Mighty China. Indonesia might stroll towards the QF, but will face the winner between MAS and KOR for a place in the SF. Tough tough tough.....
I agree with Krisna that the best possible path for a Semi-Final finish (as targetted by PBSI) is to finish LAST in the group, if we can't beat Japan! We can afford to lose to Netherlands in order to play Denmark, which can be beaten by taking 2 doubles and the last single (unknown player). We have a better chance of beating Korea as well than China, through our 2 doubles (Vita/Butet vs Lee/Lee -- tough one; Jo/Grace vs Ha/Kim -- done last week in All-England). It's tough for Maria or Firda to beat Jun Jae Yun or Hwang Hye Youn, BUT, either Pia or Nana has a chance against Lee Yun Hwa or Jang Soo Young. It will be an interesting match-up! Chance against Japan: Two doubles -- 50-60% of winning! Singles -- tough to say. Japanese singles are also unstable.
What IF MAS lost to KOREA? MAS VS INA IN QUARTERFINAL Very unfavourable draw for MAS, if they emerge as winner in Group B, still JAPAN will be a very tough team to beat in QF too.
